Marie Claire has become the first magazine to host a fashion event exclusively for women, and has invited actresses, models and influential female executives. The dress code for the night was black and white suits – who do you ship? (Hint: the correct answer is everyone X everyone)
If you’ve noticed the lack of good photoshoots in the past month from major publications, it’s because all of the covers were by Chen Man and they were lackluster at best. After she hastily put out dull photoshoots for Li Bingbing, Zhou Xun, Ni Ni, and Sun Li one after another, I was starting to wonder if she’s planning to take her money and run soon. Luckily there’s this photoshoot of Zhou Dongyu that perfectly captures her playfulness and is so crisply photoshopped that it reminds us Chen Man is still a master at her craft even using 50% effort. Glad to have you back, Chen Man!

September and October are traditionally the most high-quality fashion covers, but it seems like November is way, way better this year. Perhaps because the magazines don’t feel so pressured to have the biggest (safest) names bound by restraints, November covers so far are so much more modern in aesthetics.
