Photographer Friday: Zhong Lin

Malaysian-born, Taipei-based photographer Zhong Lin (pinyin: Zhong Ling) is really one of my favorites. I love her whimsical style and bold use of colors that seem to bring fairytale settings to life. Her subjects always feel so filled with life, and each frame tells a story. Gone with the Light leads Wang Luodan, Chen Wenqi, Tan Zhuo promo shoot

The women of sci-fi film Gone with the Light 被光抓走的人 are captivating under light and shadows in this photoshoot by Zhong Ling. The film follows a post-apocalyptic event where only people without love are left on Earth. It stars Wang Luodan, Chen Wenqi, Tan Zhuo, and Huang Bo and is set for a December 13th release.

The Crossing to get U.S., Canada, Australia, Auckland release on Mar. 15

Photoshoot for the film by Zhong Ling

Coming-of-age story about “a schoolgirl’s rite of passage as a rookie smuggler”, The Crossing 过春天 will be screening in the usual overseas spots this week.

The directorial debut of  Bai Xue  is the produced by veteran director Tian Zhuanzhuang.  I don’t know what it is, but the trailer  looks very different from all the other Chinese films.   It reminds me a bit of the best Thai coming-of-age films. Newcomers Huang Yao, Sun Yang join Carmen Soup to star in the film.
