Jin Shijia plays a locksmith recruited by the police to solve a series of locked-room mysteries in The Locked Room 上锁的房间, a loose adaptation of the Kei Enomoto series . Joined by police officers played by Chuo Ni and Chen Yilong, he’ll fight against Xiao Shunyao in the latter’s first antagonist role. The Youku exclusive concluded filming this spring and is set for a 2019 release on Youku.

I can’t believe Yang Yang‘s finally getting a modern lead!!!! This has been such a great year for some of my favorite underrated actors, including all three of the male leads here.
Drama Whirlwind Girl 旋风少女, which started filming this week and is scheduled for a summer release, stars Hu Bingqing, Yang Yang, Chen Xiang, Bai Jingting, Tan Songyun, and Zhao Yuanyuan. As the third drama by author Ming Xiaoxi to be adapted, this is the youngest cast yet, with the entire cast 15+ years younger than that of Summer of Bubbles.
On a side note, the fact that Hunan TV picked Hu Bingqing who has almost no previous work indicates a strong likelihood Qin’s Moon, for which she’s the female lead, will air soon since Whirlwind Girl already has a scheduled air date in June for Hunan TV’s Sunday/Monday weekly slot.
