Challenges at Midlife 相逢时节 stars Lei Jiayin and Yuan Quan in a Romeo and Juliet-esque story minus the tragic ending. Costars include Zhang Yixing as Yuan Quan’s younger brother, Jia Nailiang as Lei Jiayin’s best buddy and Luo Haiqiong as his older sister.

The Island 一出好戏 is Huang Bo’s directorial debut, and revolves around the protagonist’s (also played by Huang) attempts to leave the island with his fellow travellers Shu Qi, Wang Baoqiang, Zhang Yixing, Yu Hewei, Wang Xun, Li Qinqin and Li Youlin.
Empress of the Ming: Legend of Sun Ruowei is the latest female-centric drama to star a well-known film actress, and this time Tang Wei will be playing the titular empress. Go Fighting! 极限挑战 is one of the two variety shows I follow religiously (the other being Who’s the Murderer? 明星大侦探), and Season 3 of the popular variety show is finally ready to premiere tomorrow night.
Sun Honglei, Huang Bo, Huang Lei, Show Luo, Wang Xun and Lay Zhang Yixing are all returning for the latest installment, and I’m looking forward to seeing them tackle more fish-out-of-water scenarios over the next twelve weeks.
Operation Love 求婚大作战 is a remake of the original J-drama, and stars Lay Zhang Yixing as a young man who is given a chance to return to the past and make his feelings clear to a fellow classmate played by Chen Duling (Left Ear), before she gets married to someone else.
