I would watch this just for Cindy and Tiantian.

Cindy, Tiantian, Tang Wei, Yao Chen  join “The Monster Hunt”as guest stars.  The planned trilogy by Shrek the Third director Ramen Hui stars Bai Baihe, Jing Boran, Wallace Chung, Sandra Ng, Eric Tseng, Jiang Wu, and Yan Ni.

Also, they have really pretty concept posters:

Dad! Where did Cindy go?

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate it!

Going head-to-head with the upcoming film “Where are we going? Dad II” will be another comedy from the dads of the first season – Emperor’s Vacation 爸爸的假期. The film is directed by Wang Yuelun, and notably misses Cindy, but has a guest star from Tian Liang. Wang Yuelun isn’t the best director, so we’ll see how it goes. If anything, the kids will be cute, even if it is scripted.

Dad, where’s Photoshoot Friday?

A mini PF of some dad members. Tiantian (Angela) and Tiantian are so cute promoting their upcoming movie “Daddy’s Vacation” at the Fusan Film that I might switch ship, while Tian Liang and Cindy are adorable in a forest/school photoshoot. Meanwhile, Bei’er of season 2 puts up her hair in a bun in a beautiful photoshoot for Grazia with mom Bao Lei. Continue reading

Tiantian and Shitou make cameos in Dad? Season 2

“Village Leader” Li Rui is probably happy to see kids who don’t bully him all the time.

Has anyone been following Dad, Where Are We Going? Season 2? Lu Yi and Huang Lei have decided to become the “bromantic” pair of the season, calling themselves “the shepherd and his wife/the garbage collector and his wife.” Meanwhile, Lu Yi’s daughter Bei’er introduced Grace (the youngest participant, who insists that everyone call her “Big sister(jiejie)”) as (pork) “Bun” (bao zi) in front of Yao Ming. Plus, the kids get to wear the traditional clothing of the people in each place they visit.

But if you’re pining for the boys from season 1, Tiantian, Shitou, and their fathers cameo at the end of episode 9, and actively participate in the goat wrangling/Mongolian wrestling/grand cooking contest in episode 10. A few more pictures here.  In addition, Kimi and Jimmy Lin will be making a return in three episodes as the group goes to Taiwan.

(Mini) Photoshoot Friday: Dad, where are you?

Angela Wang and her mother Li Xiang‘s photoshoot for Bazaar is one of the cutest and sweetest I’ve seen – and if she’s is going to be dethroned by a new princess in Daddy? Season 2, she won’t be going down without a fight.  She’s definitely the star of this round-up.In the second photoshoot, she goes for a more casual look – sensible, since she’s painting, and working with the rather hyper Zhang Tiantian to boot.

No sign of Kimi or Shitou, but it turns out that Cindy is an artist too – there’s a little snippet of her studiously working too.  Continue reading

Cindy turns six, already breaking hearts

624c473cjw1effh04ago7j20hs0hsade

This photo was so cute and popular  that Sohu and QQ later reached out and brought the originals to put as their entertainment headliner.

Tian Liang may have been ousted of the “National Father-in-Law” title by Han Han, but that’s only because the competition for Cindy‘s heart is already a tight-race.    #Cindy’s  rumored boyfriend” beat out even the Hong Kong Film Awards to make the top hashtag on Weibo following Guo Tao’s recounting of a comment by Shitou at Cindy’s birthday party.  The birthday party, along with an award for Zhang Liang, also helped the entire Liang^2 family of 7-1 , including Kou Jing, Ye Yiqian, Zhang Liang, Tian Liang, Cindy, and Tiantian, all get in the top ten most searched names on Weibo for the past two days.

Shitou said: “Happy Birthday, Cindy.”
Like a flower waiting to bloom, Cindy smiled,” Thanks, Shitou-gege.”
Shitou then said,”Your rumored boyfriend is still on the road. Let’s not wait and start eating.”

Shitou-ah, you should learn more from Dad when he was young. *tears* *tears* *tears*

Drama

  • Trailer for Tang Yan, Yang Rong,  Hawick Lau’s  The Lady & the Liar  here.
  • Zhao Liying, Hawick Lau’s  Secret of the wife to air on Hunan TV in March.
  • Following the Ancient Sword, Huanrui receives approval for another fantasy wuxia series, Kunlun 昆仑, based on the book of the same name.
  • Zhao Liying, Han Dong, and Zhou Fang’s Lovebirds series 错点鸳鸯·戏点鸳鸯 finally to air on satellite on the 20th. While part 1 is a bit all over the place, I’m a big fan of part 2’s Han Dong – Zhou Fang pairing.  After watching part 2 at least three times, I’m so excited for a HD version!

“Dad” goes creative with posters

Unsatisfied with the cute but conventional posters above, the kids take their dads matters into their own hands.

For a movie that’s created in a  month, Where are we going? Dad the movie has really impressed with its advertising. Headed by eeMedia’s publicity director Wu Mengzhi (the lyricist for the theme) and N13 Visual Studios, the film has released a string of great posters and trailers. The character posters switch the kids and their dads, while the trailers include actual trailers (below), extras,  baby pink character trailers, and meticulously created concept trailers with forest and road trip themes.  They even got all the moms to sing a theme song with their kids!

Advanced screenings have generally said it’s hilarious and cute and usual, although some derided the film’s moneymaking tactics. What do you think? Will it be a hit or a flop?
