Crocodile and the Plover Bird 鳄鱼与牙签鸟 stars Zhang Tian’ai as Li Nan’en, a small town girl on exchange in France who has a passion for traditional Chinese culture and buildings. Chen Bolin costars as Zhou Erwen, a stone-faced genius architect who is an advocate for high-tech sustainable architecture. The series airs two eps weekdays on Hunan TV. Round-up of celebrity Novembers schedules put out by their workshops and what drama/film they’re working on right now, mostly selected based on if I liked their photo.
The Chinese Pilot 中国机长 is based on the emergency landing of a Sichuan Airlines aircraft on its way to Lhasa, and stars Zhang Hanyu as the heroic pilot who safely lands the plane at Chengdu Airport. Ou Hao, Du Jiang, Yuan Quan, Zhang Tian’ai and Li Qin costar as crew members.
Song dynasty drama Held in the Lonely Castle 孤城闭 released a new set of stills to celebrate its five months so far of filming.
Directed by Zhang Kaizhou (The Story of Minglan) , the historical drama is about the Emperor Renzong of Song’s struggle to balance the factions both within and outside his palace while trying to push through new reforms. The series stars Wang Kai, Jiang Shuying, Ren Min, and Bian Cheng.
