Directed by Leste Chen (Battle of Memories), Xu Zhaoren (Moonshine and Valentine) and Wu Zhongtian, the 16 episode miniseries is split into 8 chapters, focusing on the seven main suspects and the victim.
With a similar plot (thousand-year-old male lead vs true love female lead) and even the exact same supporting female actress playing the also thousand-year-old unrequited third wheel, Long for you我与你的光年距离Ⅱ is basically an over-filtered version of Moonlight & Valentine. The fantasy series is not related to the first one (which was very boring) and stars mostly up-and-coming new actors. You can watch the whole series on Youtube here.
Ye Gu (Riley Wang) plays a Time Lord tasked with saving people by manipulating time and space.
