I was having doubts about this drama at first but some of the sets and stuff are really nice.

Come to think of it, Gao Yunxiang really has a thing for playing the “manly man archetype” from Palace: The Lost Daughter to Ban Shu Legend to Legend of Miyue.
Son of Hero, starring Gao Yunxiang, has released more character stills. It makes sense that the costuming shouldn’t be too ornamental given that this should be centered on war and the Song dynasty military.

Gao Yunxiang is now starring in Son of Hero 惊天岳雷 as Yue Lei, the son of Yue Fei. I am still waiting for a page to be established somewhere with the rest of the cast but it looks like more fighting in the Southern Song dynasty to come.
