Super stylized and slick-looking, Tingxue Tower at least wins the award for the best-looking wuxia series of the year.

Wuxia series Tingxue Tower 听雪楼 just released its opening and ending themes by Mickey He. Starring  Qin Junjie (Summer’s Desire) and Yuan Bingyan (Ever Night) , the series is a torteous tale of a young woman’s attempt to avenge her parents in a battle that blurs together good and evil.  I hope the release of these means that it’ll be released sometimes soon.

Xianxia epic Ever Night releases new trailer, to stream Oct. 31

Xianxia epic Ever Night: Dawn of the Empire 将夜:帝国的清晨. released another trailer to announce its streaming on October 31st. The new trailer seems to focus on the male lead, played Chen Feiyu, and his love interests – Song Yiren, Meng Ziyi, Yuan Bingyan, and Tong Yao. We’ve seen a string of xianxia flops, so don’t get your hopes too much despite how pretty it is.

Tingxue Tower’s logo is awesome

The character for tower, 楼, has a tower in it in the logo

Here’s another set of posters for wuxia drama Tingxue Tower.  The giant logo is really the focus of this set more than either Qin Junjie or Yuan Bingyan.  But hey, if I had a cool logo, I would showcase it, too.  The character for tower, , has a tower in it and that’s pretty clever.

Tingxue Tower trailer is a tribute to last decade’s wuxia masterpieces

In an age filled with xianxia (fantasy wuxia) adaptations and re-adaptations of  wuxia classics, Tingxue Tower is a rare adaptation of a contemporary wuxia novel.

The rare contemporary wuxia adaptation Tingxue Tower 听雪楼 shows with its new trailer that it’s not just an attempt to revive the dying wuxia genre with a new story, but also seems to be a tribute to last decade’s highly-stylized wuxia films. The trailer has scenes reminiscent of the rain fight in Hero and the bamboo forest fight in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and definitely perks my interest.
