This weeks’ photoshoots consists of some of my favorite recent photoshoots of Sisters Who Make Waves. While I have mixed feelings about the show itself, I do love many of the contestants and hope the best for them after the show.

Yan Xujia got into Beijing Film Academy, not sure about He Luoluo. Congrats to Yan Xujia for being the final member of X-Fire to get accepted into college!
Sisters Who Make Waves is a show that relies on the charisma and personality of the big sisters, so I wasn’t too fussed by the shoddy camerawork for the performance stages.
Up first is Ning Jing, Aduo and Cindy Yen’s Orchid Grass. This cover is stunning, and the empowering lyrics (different from the original) are a perfect representation of the performers:
A couple of TV/ stage performances that I’ve enjoyed lately, mostly from Youth With You and The Treasured Voice.
A good original soundtrack / theme song always makes the drama-watching experience more enjoyable, so I’ve included the theme songs and instrumentals that have really impressed me this year. Which drama soundtracks made an impression on you this year?

Nothing Gold Can Stay seems like it’s going to take the crown of being the fastest period drama to get on air – female lead Sun Li wrapped up filming in May, and the 74 episode drama is all ready to air tonight.
Stranger in the North – Namewee ft Wang Leehom
Malaysian singer Namewee adds to the countless songs about the dream chasers lost in the strange allure and fog of the Northern Capital (Beijing). I don’t think Leehom has ever lived in Beijing, but who can complain about him.

Tang Yan looking gorgeous in gorgeous dresses next to gorgeous men.
January marks the release of two highly anticipated dramas starring Tang Yan: My Sunshine (何以笙箫默) and Lady & Liar (千金女贼). My Sunshine will begin airing today, January 10, and is scheduled to finish its run near the end of the month, just in time for the premiere of Lady & Liar, which will start its broadcast on January 27.
Based off a novel of the same name, My Sunshine stars Tang Yan and Wallace Chung as ex-university-sweethearts whose paths have not crossed for seven years. The series recently unveiled its ending theme song, “Why Love” (何以爱情,) performed by Wallace Chung. It’s uploaded to Croton Media’s official YouTube channel, which will hopefully have episodes of My Sunshine available in a timely fashion.
June is for deep fried donuts and fries.
