Nothing Gold Can Stay seems like it’s going to take the crown of being the fastest period drama to get on air – female lead Sun Li wrapped up filming in May, and the 74 episode drama is all ready to air tonight.
Stranger in the North – Namewee ft Wang Leehom
Malaysian singer Namewee adds to the countless songs about the dream chasers lost in the strange allure and fog of the Northern Capital (Beijing). I don’t think Leehom has ever lived in Beijing, but who can complain about him.

January marks the release of two highly anticipated dramas starring Tang Yan: My Sunshine (何以笙箫默) and Lady & Liar (千金女贼). My Sunshine will begin airing today, January 10, and is scheduled to finish its run near the end of the month, just in time for the premiere of Lady & Liar, which will start its broadcast on January 27.
Based off a novel of the same name, My Sunshine stars Tang Yan and Wallace Chung as ex-university-sweethearts whose paths have not crossed for seven years. The series recently unveiled its ending theme song, “Why Love” (何以爱情,) performed by Wallace Chung. It’s uploaded to Croton Media’s official YouTube channel, which will hopefully have episodes of My Sunshine available in a timely fashion.
You know you’re growing old when … you don’t recognize a dozen or so people on eeMedia’s New Year gimmick. No colorful New Year MV‘s this year, but eeMedia does have a fun calendar featuring favorites like Top Combine, Li Yuchun, Zheng Shuang, Wei Chen, Zhang Jie, Ou Hao, Fu Mengni, Yu Kewei, Yu Tian, Hua Chenyu, etc.
Not only can you have
Crazy cast Legend of the Ancient Sword released its opening theme, Heart of the Sword 剑心, by Zhang Jie, and the ending theme, Faraway远方, by Yu Kewei.
The series has a ridiculously gorgeous cast of Li Yifeng, Yang Mi, Zheng Shuang, Qiao Zhenyu, Ma Tianyu, Gillian Chung, William Chan, Chen Zihan, Dilireba, Li Xiaolu, Zhang Meng, and Qi Wei, and will begin airing next Wednesday.
Which song do you like more? Who do you look forward to the most?
Every time I finish Music Monday I tell myself “I will do this over the weekend next time.” But next time comes around and I’m still doing it on Monday… *hanging head in shame*
Here’s a peace-offering – The CD version of the smoke covered collaborative song by Zhang Liang 张亮 and Tiantian 天天（张悦轩） I am Not An Idol 我不是男神, written for him by Ning Huanyu.

Happy New Year!! What’s a new year celebration without a few good concerts? Lets begin with the always energetic and youthful Hunan TV New Year Concert. Hosted by Happy Camp and Day Day Up MCs (as usual), this year’s concert should really be called a family concert since almost everyone are affiliated with HNTV in someway.
idarklight‘s favorite performance might be the cuteness overload from Zhang Liang and Tian Tian, but my favorite performance of the night has to be the special rendition of Ylvis’s The Fox by Superboy 2013. Performed by Bai Jugang 白举纲, Jia Shengqiang 贾盛强, Ning Huanyu 宁恒宇, Rao Wei 饶威. Supergirl 2011 (Fu Mengni 付梦妮, Hong Chen 洪辰, Liu Meihan 刘美含, Zu Miaoling 苏妙玲) also joined the quartet at the end.
Apologies for being so MIA with Weibo Wednesday recently! Luckily, Weibo posts can be enjoyed whenever and wherever, so here’s a look at some posts from the past month or so. First up we have Yang Mi and Ma Tianyu, who became sisters-of-sorts while filming Gu Jian Qi Tan (古剑奇谭).
Even the most familiar rumored couple cannot resist our becoming sisters one day
We are adding a new section to this week’s Music Monday – Nostalgic, where we dig up oldie classics. Also, many thanks to Benji for covering Music Monday last week and maybe for the next few weeks as well.
First, Nana Xu Yina‘s MV for her new single Want Love was released awhile ago, but I never got around to posting it. Nana first debuted in 2010, but was met with little success. She then participated on Amazing Voice (天籁之声) and gained a spot on CCTV’s New Gala. This slightly rock song is a nice change from the purely innocent or sexy image common among cpop females singers.
