New Dragon Gate Inn 新龙门客栈 has started filming and released images. Starring Ma Ke, Qi Wei, Shen Mengchen, Bao Jianfeng, Daniel Chan, Liu Yaoyuan, Ye Ziqi, Yu Bo, Du Junze, Zhang Huizhong, Luo Huiyu, Xiao Can, Zhong Fengyan, and Ji Chen, something for those wanting to check out a wuxia drama.
… IMO, although the characters aren’t terribly original and some of the scenes are a bit of an eye-roll, I find that the majority of the plot follows a logical progression. Characters have their flaws but at least there are times where they pay a logical price for their flaws as opposed to some dramas in the past where this didn’t happen and seemed to detract form the story for me.
Realm of Love: Long Ballad 秀丽江山 长歌行 has been airing for quite some time. Starring Ruby Lin, Yuan Hong, Kenny Kwan, Mao Zijun, Li Jiahang, Wang Yuanke, Zong Fengyan, Yu Bo, Dai Junzhu, and Wang Yu, those who have been watching it, what are your thoughts so far?.
I like how balanced everything looks. There’s enough color and decorating to keep me interested but not to the point where I feel that I am watching a peacock mating ritual… also the patterns used are mostly characteristic for the era based on what I can see…
Realm of Love: Long Ballad 秀丽江山 长歌行 is preparing to air July 21st. Starring Ruby Lin, Yuan Hong, Kenny Kwan, Mao Zijun, Li Jiahang, Wang Yuanke, Zong Fengyan, Yu Bo, Dai Junzhu, and Wang Yu, those who have been waiting on this one don’t have much longer to wait.
Realm of Love: Long Ballad 秀丽江山 长歌行 has changed their air date to July 21st from July 26th. Starring Ruby Lin, Yuan Hong, Kenny Kwan, Mao Zijun, Li Jiahang, Wang Yuanke, Zong Fengyan, Yu Bo, Dai Junzhu, and Wang Yu, it’s nice to see a drama changing to an earlier release date after being accustomed to dramas being pushed back… wonder if it has anything to do with catching the media storm about Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo… anyhoo… new trailer below.
There’s a date on it!! It’s official!! No takie-backies!!
Realm of Love: Long Ballad 秀丽江山 长歌行 is set to air on July 26th. Starring Ruby Lin, Yuan Hong, Kenny Kwan, Mao Zijun, Li Jiahang, Wang Yuanke, Zong Fengyan, Yu Bo, Dai Junzhu, and Wang Yu, with how long it has taken for this to air, I am pretty sure I have already seen some of the props and costumes for this production in other dramas that have already aired…
Welcome to Weibo Wednesday! With this new feature, we’re hoping to expose readers to some of the cuteness, funniness, and downright weirdness that sometimes pops up on Sina Weibo. Even if you don’t have a Weibo or don’t understand Chinese, you can still follow along. And if you have your own favorite Weibo posts from this past week, feel free to share them in the comments!
Period war movie Saving General Yang (忠烈杨家将) opened in theaters this past Thursday to much general excitement, due to all the hot guys in it. All of the Yang family sons got along very well on set, but Vic Chou (third son) and Yu Bo (second son) get bonus points for fanservice.
Erlang [second son] and Sanlang [third son] are good friends!* If there is wine right now, then right now is when we’ll get drunk. If there is no wine right now, then we’ll drink plain water. Sometimes, sometimes, I would rather choose not to let go, and wait until I see beyond the scenery. Maybe you will keep me company as I go about this little by little. A belated Happy April Fool’s Day! Sincerely, Yu Bo.
* Can also be interpreted to mean they’re interested in each other.
The real reason everyone wants to see this movie. (But how come we don’t get to see any of the other brothers like this?)
After releasing an international trailer last year, upcoming war movie Saving General Yang (忠烈杨家将) recently released a grittier new trailer, along with promotional posters and stills. The film, which is based on the legend of the Yang family, in which the seven sons brave death to rescue their father, will air on April 4th, which I find depressingly appropriate.
As expected, the trailer is full of fighting and killing and yelling and horses. On average, the crew had to use about 500 horses each day when they were filming. Check out the trailer below, as well as more stills behind the cut:
Trailer for Saving General Yang, thanks to luozhelin @YouTube:
With a narration that makes it sound like the opening of a cartoon, and a surprisingly fitting English title, “Saving General Yang” , aka family of hot guys who generally can’t act, released its first international trailer with a semi-comical narration.
The movie stars Wu Zun, Vic Chou, Li Chen, Fu Xinbo, Raymond Lam, Ady An, Li Qian, Xu Fan, Ekin Cheng, Yu Bo, etc. Watch the trailer below from tableshape@YouTube.
