The latest TV series based on The Lost Tomb book series, Explore with the Note : Rage of the Sea 盗墓笔记之怒海潜沙 goes under the sea as the crew explores the fallen ship of a Ming dynasty fengshui master. The new teaser is the first looks at a two-part series starring Hou Minghao as protagonist Wu Xie and Chen Yi as his otp Zhang Qiling.
The series is produced by Tencent, directed by Li Ang (no credits), Zhou Yuyi (Hide and Seek ) , and Liu Guohui (Li Yifeng’s Tomb Raider) , and scripted by Li Ang and Bai Yicong (Li Yifeng’s Tomb Raider). Li Man, Zhang Boyu, Yao Yichen, Liu Xueyi, and Yao Lu round up the cast.
Zhang Yunlong, Liu Ruilin, and Huang Mengying all graduated from the same class (like twenty people who took every class together) at Beijing Film, while Daisi and Qiao Xin are a year apart from Central Drama. Zhang, Liu, Huang, and Daisi all work for Yang Mi.
Young, good-looking, and mostly already bff’s since so many of them went to the same college and works at the same company and have been in every other drama with each other, the cast of In Youth 趁我们还年轻 – Zhang Yunlong, Qiao Xin, Liu Ruilin, Daisy, Huang Mengying, and Huang Bojun are so adorable together. The trailer was imo the cutest looking of the modern trailer smorgasbord released last month.

In Youth 趁我们还年轻 is an idol romance set in the corporate world, and stars Zhang Yunlong (Xuanyuan Sword: Clouds of Han) and Qiao Xin (Ode to Joy) as leads.
I’m not sure what to make of this. I guess the Chinese fantasy genre is the new hot now?
Tangren has released stills for their new drama The Foxes of Azure Hills , starring Zhang Ruoyun, Jiang Jinfu, Gulnazar, Jin Chen, Chen Yao, Yao Yichen, Qiao Xin, Fu Xinbo, Wang Kai, Xiao Caiqi, Mike D. Angelo, and Tang Yixin. This drama seems to be following the pattern of some of Tangren’s older productions in adapting fantasy stories from Liao Zhai (Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio). Costuming is not bad but I really hope they look better in action…
