Photoshoot Friday: Dad?

Okay, it’s only fair that the Dads of Season 2 (or…I guess, just Lu Yi and Huang Lei) get a Photoshoot Friday for themselves. Except, look at who cameos at the end…!

Lu Yi and Bei’er are adorable for their Daddy and little girl photoshoot. Huang Lei and Duo Duo not only got to reunite with mommy Sun Li (not Deng Chao’s wife, you might know this Sun Li as Liu Yifei’s queen mother from Chinese Paladin) in the show, she also makes an appearance in the family’s photoshoot for Fashion Weekly – Duo Duo really strikes the model poses here. Personally, though, I like her photoshoot with Men’s Style more, where they dress her more like a little girl and not like a mini version of Lily (Tiny Times). Continue reading

Tiantian and Shitou make cameos in Dad? Season 2

“Village Leader” Li Rui is probably happy to see kids who don’t bully him all the time.

Has anyone been following Dad, Where Are We Going? Season 2? Lu Yi and Huang Lei have decided to become the “bromantic” pair of the season, calling themselves “the shepherd and his wife/the garbage collector and his wife.” Meanwhile, Lu Yi’s daughter Bei’er introduced Grace (the youngest participant, who insists that everyone call her “Big sister(jiejie)”) as (pork) “Bun” (bao zi) in front of Yao Ming. Plus, the kids get to wear the traditional clothing of the people in each place they visit.

But if you’re pining for the boys from season 1, Tiantian, Shitou, and their fathers cameo at the end of episode 9, and actively participate in the goat wrangling/Mongolian wrestling/grand cooking contest in episode 10. A few more pictures here.  In addition, Kimi and Jimmy Lin will be making a return in three episodes as the group goes to Taiwan.

#How to play with your kids#

Do you like National Geographic but with cute kids in the scene? A Bite of China but with hotter chefs? Where are we going? Dad season 2 has it covered!

So far, I’ve already fallen for Duoduo from the trailers alone, and episode one only confirmed it. As the oldest, she acts really assertive and cool, but seems super nice and sweet on the inside. Bei’er is also a little angel, scared to see others being hurt, but although willing to help everyone and to share. Yang Yangyang is as shy as usual, and is especially cute when he was so happy to see Feymann come to visit, but then went Pokerface as soon as Feymann actually showed up. I keep getting Feymann and Joe confused …

Also, who would’ve thought the pretty boy Lu Yi was the jokester of the group?

What are your favorite moments of episode 1?

Dad 2 wanders into fantasy with new posters

Who needs Prince Charming when your dad is Lu Yi?

The second season to 2013’s number one variety show, Where are we going? Dad Season  will begin airing on the 20th and stars Francis Ng, Gary Cao, Huang Lei, Lu Yi, Yang Wei, and guest starring people like Yao Ming.

I think these hands down win best variety show posters ever. The quality of these posters, probably by ee-Media’s N13 Studio,  are better than most film posters nowadays.

Weibo Wednesday: May 14, 2014

Lots of goodies in this Weibo round-up, including two dating announcements! But first, let’s kick it off with a few Mother’s Day posts, some touching and some silly…

Yu Haoming with mother

Meteor Shower actor Yu Haoming wrote a poignant message for his mother, who was with him every step of the way after he was injured in an explosion in 2010 when filming a drama with S.H.E’s Selina. After being hospitalized with numerous third-degree burns, his mother personally cooked every meal for him and brought it to the hospital for him to eat. Haoming shared in a recent interview that his mom is still in the habit of calling him a few times a day to check up on him.

And for those of you wondering what Haoming is up to, he just started filming a drama called Before the Rain (暴雨将至), which also stars Huang Zhizhong and Jordan Chan.

#In this world, only Mom is good# Mom’s goodness lies not only in her meticulous care in life, the urging of her patient persuasion, and her duty-bound silent support. Even more precious is that every time we take a picture, I will consciously rush onward, in order to make my face a little smaller. Everyone, where can you find such a good mother? Mommy, Happy Mother’s Day! I love you!

Cute kids vs. awesome monkey, who would you watch?

The year of the horse begun auspiciously for Chinese cinema as two new films helped it make the biggest box office day in Chinese history with 220 million RMB.

Where are we going?
