The Qin Dynasty was for the most part pretty short so clothing differences didn’t really seem to have the time to develop significantly. Therefore, the next major period would be the Western Han Dynasty (Experiencing Dynastic Restoration).

This week, we move on in the Chinese history timeline past the Qin Dynasty and into the Western Han Dynasty with Experiencing Dynastic Restoration 朝代復原體驗 and Hu Jingming 琥璟明.  Remember that this is still part of the time period when Chinese underwear was in develop to properly cover the body and thick and heavy clothes of dark color were favored by the upper class.

This week, we take a look into more Han dynasty-inspired clothing, more specifically that of the Western Han dynasty and probably the earlier part of the Eastern Han dynasty.  Pictures this week come from Clothing and Happiness 裝束與樂舞.  Those watching Realm of Love: Long Ballad 秀麗江山之長歌行 which released on July 21st can get a sense of the fashion for this period in this post.  More pictures of the male clothing here since I am too lazy to try to move the strip image over and figure out how to get it right… >.<

Warring States period (Clothing and Happiness).  Zhiju probably worn in various styles farther back than this period and into the Han dynasty, though probably not too popular given other options by the time we get to the Han dynasty.

This week, we take a look into a subject I have been avoiding Han dynasty-inspired clothing and clothes pre-dating the Tang dynasty.  Therefore, for those of you who have been keeping track, we will be making a loop around in the timeline… and just in time since this period kind of correlates with Qin’s Moon and The Legend of Miyue‘s rough time period.
