iQiyi recently released trailers and posters for a slew of upcoming shows that will either air exclusively on the site as web dramas and/or on television networks next year. Which shows are you looking forward to most?
The Pavilion – Duan Yihong, Hao Lei, Zu Feng, Wu Yue, Bai Yufan. Nineteen years ago, the Xuan family’s youngest sister is murdered, and the family is splintered. Almost two decades later, the broken family reunites after the oldest brother becomes the suspect of a fresh murder.
Last year’s Light On program gave us two critically successful dramas in The Bad Kids and The Long Night – any guesses as to which dramas will stand out from the pack this year? (My pick is The Pavilion, based on cast performance alone)
Marie Claire has become the first magazine to host a fashion event exclusively for women, and has invited actresses, models and influential female executives. The dress code for the night was black and white suits – who do you ship? (Hint: the correct answer is everyone X everyone)
Over the past week, Mango TV, Tencent and iQiyi have released teasers and promos for select dramas that will probably air next year (follow the links for more information). Which ones are you looking forward to most?
Malaysian-born, Taipei-based photographer Zhong Lin (pinyin: Zhong Ling) is really one of my favorites. I love her whimsical style and bold use of colors that seem to bring fairytale settings to life. Her subjects always feel so filled with life, and each frame tells a story. Here’s a round-up of some of my favorite celebrity photoshoots by her.
Wisher 致命愿望 stars Feng Shaofeng (Story of Minglan) as Na Duo, a reporter who decides to take on an evil association that seeks to control the minds of humankind. Wenqi(Eagles and Youngster) plays a creative arts uni student who is bewitched by ‘Wisher’.
Fan Chengcheng, Guo Zifan, Shao Bing and Yang Rong costar. Based on the novel of the same name by Na Duo, the 12 episode Lights On miniseries is directed by Yang Miao (Unforgiven).
