I thought it would be a drama set mostly in the imperial kitchen, but the trailers for Royal Feast makes it look like the typical palace romance between a maid turned empress (Wu Jinyan) and the future emperor (Xu Kai).

Song of Youth stars Bai Lu, Jin Chen and Lamu Yangzi as sisters-in-law who seem to have the upper hand when it comes to married life. [Extended Synopsis]
Song of Youth 玉楼春 is Yu Zheng’s latest period drama, a comedy starring Bai Lu, Jin Chen, Yang Rong, Huang Xinyao, Zheng Qiuhong, Lamuyangzi, Qiao Xin, and Wen Zhengrong. Their male love interests will be Wang Yizhe, Hao Lei, Chang Long, Zhou Lu, Zhu Zhiling, and Zheng Kai. According to Yu Zheng, the drama’s main focus will be fast-paced humor, but will include elements of traditional arts like pipa, guqin, dance, flower arrangement, the art of and fragrances and the like. It’ll also include actors from acting competition Real Actor.
This is Yu Zheng’s first attempt at comedy since Cosmetology High in 2014, which was not that well received (although idarklight enjoyed it).

Netflix will release a spinoff of popular drama The Story of Yanxi Palace on December 31 here. Yanxi Palace: Princess Adventures 金枝玉叶 follows the daughter of Wei Yingluo and the Emperor Qianlong, the seventh Princess Zhaohua played by Wang Herun, in her efforts to win the heart of the son Erqing (played by Wang Yizhe) while she fights the vendetta against her family.
Chen Yao stars as a maiden who crossdresses to become a detective in order to overturn the case of her family in detective rom-com Maiden Holmes 少女大人. The series is currently filming.

Now this is a drama where viewers won’t have to worry about awkward acting – A-list veteran Zhang Jiayi (White Deer Plain) and talented child-star-turned-grownup Zhang Yishan (Ten Miles of Spring Scenery Can’t Compare to You) are confirmed to star in the upcoming drama Uncle and Youth 大叔与少年.
