Stars attend Tencent awards show in Nanjing

Most of the stars that have had or will have shows broadcast on Tencent attended the event. The actresses have my utmost respect today – it’s currently 2 degrees Celsius in Nanjing. Which look do you like best?

Promo Round-up: Legend of Fei

Legend of Fei depicts the growth of a female warrior (Zhao Liying) in a time when the influence and power of the pugilist world (wulin) is on decline. Wang Yibo costars as her love interest and the Prince of Duan. [Extended]

Zhao Liying made her disappointment with the script very obvious on Weibo during filming, and now I’m really curious about the final product. Members can stream the first 8 episodes at 9am tomorrow (CN time) and then watch 2 episodes every Mon-Thurs.

Huang Xuan, Wang Yibo, Song Qian’s mystery drama Luoyang begins filming

40 episodes to cover 15 days – Given Xie Ze’s track record, I believe he will be better at controlling pacing than Cao Dun.

Based on Ma Boyong’s unpublished novel of the same name, Luoyang 风起洛阳 is being pitched as a Tang dynasty version of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The crime-solving trio consists of a police detective turned suspect (Huang Xuan), a lad who wants to find out the truth behind his father’s death (Wang Yibo) and a noble lady who wants to find the whistle blower’s letter (Song Qian).

Directed by Xie Ze (Great Expectations) and written by Qingmei (The Chronicles of Town Called Jian), the 40 episode drama began filming today.

Photographer Friday: Zhong Lin

Malaysian-born, Taipei-based photographer Zhong Lin (pinyin: Zhong Ling) is really one of my favorites. I love her whimsical style and bold use of colors that seem to bring fairytale settings to life. Her subjects always feel so filled with life, and each frame tells a story. Here’s a round-up of some of my favorite celebrity photoshoots by her.

Previous photographer round-ups: Chen Man’s Chinese steampunk, Luo Yang’s raw femininity, Xiaoming’s frames , Fan Xin’s people and their surroundings
