Period mystery Strange Legend of Tang Dynasty releases teaser

I missed this in my iQiyi round-up, but the trailer for Strange Legend of Tang Dynasty 唐朝诡事录 is intriguing enough that the drama gets its own post. Produced by the team behind Soul Ferry, the web drama follows imperial guard Lu Lingfeng (Yang Xuwen) and Di Renjie’s disciple Su Wuming (Yang Zhigang) as they try to catch the ‘ghosts’ behind the mystery.

Promo Round-up: Autumn Cicada

Filmed in 2017, republican espionage drama Autumn Cicada 秋蝉 stars Ren Jialun (Under the Power) as Ye Chong, a Japanese officer who is actually an undercover Communist agent. Costars include Li Man, Liu Huan, He Dujuan and Jian Renzi.

The 51 episode drama airs daily on Zhejiang TV / Jiangsu TV beginning tonight.

Ever Night 2 releases trailer

Wang Hedi replaces Arthur Chen Feiyu in Ever Night 2

Despite a change in the male lead from Arthur Chen to Wang Hedi, the trailer for the new season of Ever Night looks imo even better than the previous one, with better CGI and a more crispy edit. The drama brings back director Yang Yang as well as most of the first season’s cast – Song Yiren, Yuan Bingyan, Dylan Kuo, Sun Zujun, etc. Yang Chaoyue joins the cast as the god Haotian, while Lian Lian replaces Tong Yao as the princess. There’s still no broadcasting date announced.

Ever Night 2 releases stills and production BTS

The new season of Ever Night stars Dylan Wang Hedi as Ning Que, Song Yiren as Sangsang and Yuan Bingyan as Mo Shanshan. New leading cast members include Liu Kejun as Ye Hongyu and Yang Chaoyue as Haotian, the all-powerful god and the leads’ archenemy.

Coming from the producers of Season 1, Ever Night 2 is tentatively scheduled to broadcast this month on Tencent.

Feng Shaofeng’s The Imperial Age releases first trailer

The Imperial Age 山河月明 (prev. 江山纪) is an upcoming historical drama that chronicles the life of Zhu Di (Feng Shaofeng / Cheng Yi), fourth son of the founding emperor (Chen Baoguo) of the Ming Dynasty who later rebels against his nephew Zhu Yunwen (Chen Yuemo) and takes the throne for himself.
