The new trailer for Republican-era drama The Great Craftsmanmakes it out to be a Romeo and Juliet story, where master builder Shen Qi’nan (WallaceHuo) breaks off his relationship with architect Fu Hanjun (Yang Mi) after discovering she is the daughter of the man who killed his father.
Not much material has been released for Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace because the air date was announced on such short notice, but having this post up gives me some sense of closure (I’m pretty sure I’ve posted about this drama more than 20 times over the past two years).
A record of the failed marriage between the Step-Empress and the Qianlong Emperor.
Despite all the controversies surrounding this drama, I’m still pretty excited to see the final product. The ~88 episode drama will air 2 episodes on Tencent every Monday-Thursday and VIP members will get a 6 episode head start. No plans have been made for its broadcast on television.
Chinese Paladin 3 and Reset costars Wallace Huo and Yang Mi are probably going to be playing a couple in The Great Craftsman 巨匠 (lit.), an upcoming Republican drama that revolves around the lives of architects.
Verdict: You would probably like it if you like chick flicks, and not if otherwise.
A cross between Freaky Friday and Seventeen Again, Sudden Seventeen 28岁未成年 is a fun, heartwarming, albeit cliched chick flick that surprisingly does not have a romantic message. It’s also a monumental tribute to the beauty of Ni Ni.
“Today is the tenth day of Summer (Ni Ni) being a perfect housewife. Like the 3650 days before today, she got up at 7 am, had perfect hair and a perfect outfit, made breakfast, and is ready for her beau (Wallace Huo) to awake up. But today was different. She had seen a ring in his coat and he was going to propose.”
When it turns out the ring was for someone else, Summer breaks down and in the midst of her breakdown, sees an advertisement for chocolates that will make her happy again. It turns out that a bite of the chocolate makes her … drumroll…. seventeen again. Continue reading →
Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace is a 90 episode epic that will chronicle the failed marriage of Ruyi (Zhou Xun) and the Qianlong Emperor (Wallace Huo), and has just released grand posters of its cast in formal court robes (chaofu / 朝服), which is worn strictly during state ceremonies and important festivals. The historical romance drama is tentatively scheduled for a New Year premiere.
Can you imagine how photogenic Jing Boran and Ni Ni’s babies would be.
The guests at this year’s Harper’s Bazaar Charity Gala is a who’s who of Chinese actors this year. Here are some of the stars on the red carpet, including Zhang Ziyi, Carina Lau, Fan Bingbing, Li Bingbing, Yang Mi, Lu Han, Angelababy, Yao Chen, Chris Li Yuchun, Ni Ni, Jing Boran, Zhang Ruoyun, Tang Yixin, Zhang Lanxin, Jiang Xin, Amber Kuo, Bea Hayden, Wang Ziwen, Li Xiaolu, Jia Nailiang, Ying’er, Aarif Lee, Zhao Liying, Qiao Xin, Zhang Yunlong, Zhang Binbin, Li Yundi, Chen Xuedong, Ruby Lin, Wallace Huo, Ady An Yixuan, Shawn Dou Xiao, etc. There were a lot more stars (like Fan Bingbing’s boyfriend Li Chen, Angelababy’s husband Huang Xiaoming), but their outfits were boring.
Clothes identification from : Starstylefashion@Weibo , clothes from the Bazaar Weibo or the star’s own Weibo’s (this is fair because both are PS’ed anyways) .
Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace has slowly been releasing stills of its main characters, their halls of residence, and the exquisite props. Fingers crossed the 90 (or 100, if rumours are to be believed) episode drama lives up to expectations when it airs in early December.
