The Qin Empire IV is the final instalment of the acclaimed historical drama series, and focuses on the unification of China by Qin Shihuang (Zhang Luyi). Costars include Duan Yihong, Li Naiwen, Zhu Zhu, Xin Baiqing, Zhu Zhu and Vivian Wu.
The drama airs 3 episodes daily on CCTV-8 beginning tonight.
Upcoming legal drama The Best Partner stars Jin Dong as a succesful attorney and Lan Yingying as a budding lawyer. The drama’s supporting and guest star lineup features Liu Mintao, Zhu Zhu, Tian Yu, Dai Xu, Sun Chun, Wang Ou, Wu Yue, Vivian Wu, Yuan Quan and Qiao Zhenyu, just to name a few.
The 48 episode drama airs daily on Dragon TV/Beijing TV beginning tonight.

The latest trailer for the fouth and last instalment of the The Qin Empire TV series introduces Ying Zheng’s (Zhang Luyi) conquest in more detail, and introduces new cast members that weren’t featured in the introductory teaser. Liu Jun costars as Zhao Dan, Vivian Wu as Ying Zheng’s grandmother Lady Huayang, Wang Qingxiang as Ying Zheng’s great-grandfather Ying Ji and Ye Xiangming as Lao Ai.
The Best Partner 精英律师 stars Jin Dong (Mr. Right) as Luo Bin, an arrogant top lawyer who only cares about winning cases. Lan Yingying (Never Gone) plays Dai Xi, a hot-blooded rookie lawyer who will have a bickering non-romantic(?) relationship with the male lead.
In many ways, Chinese-American actresses Joan Chen and Vivian Wu have similar trajectories in life. They both became movie stars in their native Shanghai, went on to attend college in the U.S. and become American citizens, were shot into fame in Hollywood with The Last Emperor, spent years playing mostly supporting roles in Hollywood, and now have returned to the Chinese entertainment industry, even guest starring together in Ruyi’s Royal Love. Joan Chen recently directed her second Chinese-languge film English 英格力士 , while Vivian Wu recently produced and starred in Dead Pigs 海上浮城, the directorial debut of Cathy Yan ( who is currently directing DC’s Birds of Prey ).

Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace is a 90 episode epic that will chronicle the failed marriage of Ruyi (Zhou Xun) and the Qianlong Emperor (Wallace Huo), and has just released grand posters of its cast in formal court robes (chaofu / 朝服), which is worn strictly during state ceremonies and important festivals. The historical romance drama is tentatively scheduled for a New Year premiere.

Here are some wonderful new stills for Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace, a 90 episode historical romance drama which focuses on the deterioration of Ruyi (Zhou Xun) and Hongli’s (Wallace Huo) relationship once the latter ascends the throne as the Qianlong Emperor. Really, the tagline says it all.
The stars featured below include Janine Chang as best friend Hailan, Dong Jie as Qianlong’s jealous first Empress, Tong Yao as the feisty Gao Xiyue, Xin Zhilei as Jin Yuyan, Vivian Wu as Zhenhuan, Li Chun as the scheming Wei Yanwan and Hu Ke as the naive Su Lvyun.

Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace 后宫·如懿传 has released more images of the wide cast of characters. Starring Zhou Xun, Wallace Huo, Janine Chang, Li Chun, Dong Jie, Tong Yao, Chen Haoyu, Xin Zhilei, Zeng Yixuan, Wu Junmei (Vivian Wu), Chen Xiaoyun, Huang Ming, Jing Chao, Li Qin, Yuan Wenkang, Hu Ke, Zhang Jiazhu, Cao Xiwen, Yu Yang, and He Hongshan, I am assuming these are simply costumes for more minor characters but that in itself is pretty mind-blowing.
