Photoshoot round-up: Douyin Star Night

Guan Xiaotong

Studios have released perfectly photoshopped pictures of their stars ahead of the broadcast of Douyin’s event (although it probably isn’t getting the level of attention it would like at the moment…). Catch the stars on the red carpet now at Youku.

Huang Xuan, Wang Yibo, Song Qian’s mystery drama Luoyang begins filming

40 episodes to cover 15 days – Given Xie Ze’s track record, I believe he will be better at controlling pacing than Cao Dun.

Based on Ma Boyong’s unpublished novel of the same name, Luoyang 风起洛阳 is being pitched as a Tang dynasty version of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The crime-solving trio consists of a police detective turned suspect (Huang Xuan), a lad who wants to find out the truth behind his father’s death (Wang Yibo) and a noble lady who wants to find the whistle blower’s letter (Song Qian).

Directed by Xie Ze (Great Expectations) and written by Qingmei (The Chronicles of Town Called Jian), the 40 episode drama began filming today.
