Happy Lunar New Year! For some of us, it’s not yet February 19, but I guess that just means we’ll get an extended day of celebration. C: Treat yourself to one of Jimmy Lin‘s red envelopes featuring his son, Kimi~

Most of our favorite celebrities are enjoying the holiday at home, which means not as many Weibo updates regarding the New Year. But here’s what some of them have been up to the past three weeks…

To those of you who celebrate it, happy early Thanksgiving! We hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving feast as much as Wang Leehom is enjoying his.

I practiced violin for the entire evening, and when I walked out of the recording studio, I saw this display… too moving! A Thanksgiving feast personally prepared by my wife, so tasty. I wish that everyone will have a Thanksgiving full of love.

And if that’s not enough meat for you, Vicki Zhao Wei has you covered…

Hope everyone had a good Halloween last week! Some celebrities got in on the fun as well, though I haven’t seen any truly outlandish costumes yet. Here’s three of the cutest ones I saw — do you have any of your own to share?

Jimmy Lin with wife Kelly Chen at son Kimi Lin‘s school’s Halloween party. They’re dressed as a SWAT team. Excuse me while I express shock over the fact that they’re allowed to bring to fake weapons into a school. My workplace didn’t even allow lightsabers!

Weibo Wednesday: February 19, 2014

Even though it’s been three weeks since our last round-up, there’s not much to report from the Weibo front. I guess all of our favorite celebs have been too busy having fun during the Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival to waste time on Weibo… which is how the holidays should be spent, amirite?

Anyway, for those of you wondering whether or not you’re a famous Chinese celebrity, here’s an easy litmus test: turn on the TV during the Chinese New Year season and see if you see yourself on the screen. If yes, you’re probably famous, like Vicki Zhao Wei, whose Princess Returning Pearl (还珠格格) has been a Hunan TV staple since it originally aired in 1998. This is reportedly the 15th time the channel has rerun the series.

Can I say that I was startled when I turned on the TV? Very amused this holiday

Weibo Wednesday: Merry Christmas!

For those of you who celebrate it, Merry Christmas! For those of you who don’t… have Wang Leehom in a Santa costume.

The reindeer all went on vacation, living Santa Claus to sit on a plane to Ji’nan all by himself!

Some more silliness, but also a solemn farewell, behind the cut.

The popularity of “Where are we going? Dad” have made all celebs more willing to show off their kids. Kids-based weibo’s of  Han Han, Vicki Zhao Wei, Yao Chen, Li Xiaolu and Jia Nailiang, and Tian Liang and Zhang Liang.

First up is actor Jia Nailiang, of the currently-airing Best Time,  celebrating the 1-year-old birthday of his daughter with Li Xiaolu.

My goddess, my baby is a year old today, and I feel more happy than I would feel with a hundred of my own birthdays. The birthday of the child, a tiring day for the mom, Lulu, thank you for everything, I love you two.

You may have thought that the Tiny Times (小时代) movie cast was filled with ridiculously good-looking people, but it turns out they were actually all sumo wrestlers in disguise… Just kidding! This is just Chen Xuedong, Kai Ko, Rhydian Vaughan, and Xie Yilin putting in an appearance on Happy Camp. What shenanigans are they up to this time? Check out the episode when it airs on June 22nd.

Weibo Wednesday: April 24-May 1

Eddie Peng has been enjoying major success with his movies in the past two years: LOVE (爱), Tai Chi 0 (太极1), Tai Chi Hero (太极2), and Cold War (寒战) all surpassed 100 million at the box office, and at last count, A Wedding Invitation (分手合约) brought in 180 million RMB in sales and is expected to reach the 200 million mark.

Apart from having the Midas Touch at the box office, it seems as though Eddie might have another superpower. Did Eddie travel back in time to help shape U.S. politics by becoming one of Barack Obama‘s high school basketball teammates?

Outlook Magaine: #Old Photo# Obama and his teammates (1977)
Fan: @Eddie Peng, are you sure that’s not you on the bottom left corner?
Eddie Peng: Yep, that’s me.

Unfortunately, no one else in this week’s Weibo Wednesday seems to have developed any awesome superpowers, but that’s okay, we love them anyway.
