Sodagreen once again adds to the OST collection of Tiny Times

Is that Lily that Yang Mi’s Lin Xiao is talking to as she holds the roses?

If you loved Sodagreen‘s song “I Miss You So Much” from the first Tiny Times, you’ll be happy to know that he sang another one for the final installment of the trilogy, coming out in theaters on July 17th. A lyric video for Glimmer of Light 微光 has been posted below, as have more stills for the eye-candy filled film. This song is my personal favorite, but if you want to get yourself pumped for the release, you can also listen to Kaleidoscope by Jolin Tsai.

Weibo Wednesday: July 2, 2014

To be honest, not much has been happening on the Weibo front since our last round-up (that, or I haven’t had the time to pay enough attention), but have some cuteness to make up for the lack of real news.

Zhou Xun with boyfriend Archie Kao and panda

i周迅: [panda emoticon]

Zhou Xun with her Chinese-American boyfriend Archie Kao is quite adorable already, but give me Zhou Xun, Archie, and a panda, and that’s even better! I’m going to have to throw in an extra picture here, because she is really just too cute.

“I see the future, the blooming of a ten thousand flowers. ” – Jolin Tsai’s lyrics and my dream for Chinese entertainment.

Thanks to the addition of Vivian Dawson, Tiny Times 3.0  got a new theme song from Jolin Tsai.   The song, Kaleidoscope 万花瞳, is blocked on YouTube, but you can watch the MV on LeTV here.   What do you think? How does it compare to previous theme songs by  Sodagreen and Yu Kewei?

More stills featuring Yang Mi, Amber Kuo, Bea Hayden, Xie Yilin, and Lee Hyunjae below the cut.

“It’s the best of times, it’s the worst of times; You might forget these times, but you’ll always remember us.”

Tiny Times 3.0 posters, make out edition!

Why have two main male leads paired with the main female leads when you can pair them with each other?

Tiny Times 3.0 shows you that movie posters don’t have to actually relate to the plot as long as there’s fanservice involved.

Why sleep alone when you can kiss someone else? Tiny Times 3.0 cast celebrates Valentine’s Day with a poster series of the main cast about to kiss.

Posters feature Yang Mi, Amber Kuo, Kai Ko, Chen Xuedong, Bea Hayden, Xie Yilin, Jiang Chao, Du Tianhao, and newcomers Vivian Dawson, Ren Youming, and Lee Hyunjae.  Note that the posters may have nothing to do with the actual plot and most of those pairings do not exist in the book.

Weibo Wednesday: January 15, 2014

This week’s Weibo Wednesday will kick off with three couples — can you guess who they are? First is none other than Yang Mi and Hawick Lau, who got married in Bali on January 8th.

杨幂: 谢谢今天的一切,谢谢所有的祝福,谢谢你们,我嫁喽

Thank you for everything today, thank you for all of your blessings, thank you all, I am married.

Some sharp-eyed netizens noticed an ironic Weibo post from October 2011, shortly after Yang Mi and Hawick filmed the MV for “Thorny Embrace” (刺猬的拥抱) together. In it, Yang Mi denies the relationship rumors with Hawick… only to go public not three months later, on January 8th, 2012.

Yang Mi returns for “Tiny Times 3.0”

Amber Kuo’s princess is officially back!

Yang Mi will reprise her role as Lin Xiao in Tiny Times 3.0 (小时代3), the third installment of author/director Guo Jingming‘s series, which is set to air in summer 2014. Most of our favorites from the first two movies will be returning, with the unfortunate exception of Rhydian Vaughan, who will be replaced by Vivian Dawson. Tiny Times 3.0 will also introduce two new male characters, both of whom are related to Amber Kuo‘s Gu Li. Check out the complete cast listing behind the cut.

Weibo Wednesday: December 4, 2013

陈晓: 我已经沦陷,小小龙女问我,你演谁啊,其实我演谁都不重要,我是来求合照的,Mua!

Chen Xiao fans, you officially have the right to be jealous. Here he is with child actress Zhang Zimu, who’s playing the little-girl version of Xiaolongnü in The Condor Heroes (神雕侠侣)… yet another of Yu Zheng’s added flashback plots. But she’s cute so I guess it’s okay. Plus Chen Xiao is already smitten with her.

I’ve already fallen into enemy hands. Little Xiaolongnü asked me, ‘Who are you playing?’ Actually it doesn’t matter who I’m playing, I’m here to ask to take a picture with her. Mua!

“Tiny Times 3.0” set for Summer 2014

U10247P28T3D4048784F326DT20131124222125

Although you didn’t know it before, Tiny Times 3.0 is actually about  Hannibal the cannibal’s adventures in China.

Writer-director Guo Jingming recently announced on Weibo that productions for Tiny Times 3.0 will begin production in December, probably with the same cast. The film is set to be in theaters in Summer 2014.   One interesting note is that the subtitle is “Age of Piercing Gold,” the name of the third book, implying that this might be the end of a trilogy rather than a quadrilogy as previously thought since the second film is based on Tiny Times 1.5  rather than Tiny Times 2.0 the book.

Last year, when I first decided to be a director, I asked everyone:’After so many years, those of you who like Tiny Times, are you still here? Do you still love (it)?’ This year,I may have to ask once more. It’s because 《Tiny Times 3.0 : Age of Piercing Gold》 begins production in December. Next summer, let the future explode once more. #Tiny Times 3.0#, youth never departs.
