Spy Comedy The Rookies 素人特工 is coming out this week and the trailer actually looks really fun. The film directed and written by Alan Yuen (Monster Hunt, Firestorm, New Police Story) comes out on the July 12th in China and seems to have potential for overseas releases.

Wang Talu, Xu Weizhou, Sandrine Pinna, Milla Jovovich, Xiao Zhan, and Liu Meitong star in this summer blockbuster that looks like it has some potential.

Jackson Wang sings a remix of Papillion for the film here.

A team of accidental agents consisting of an extreme sport lover (Wang Talu), a mad scientist (Xu Weizhou), a police officer (Sandrine Pinna), and an unemployed doctor (Liu Meitong) team up with the help of special agent Milla Jovovich to try and stop a group of terroists.

Upcoming fantasy mystery film Legend of the Demon Cat stars Huang Xuan (Extraordinary Mission) as a poet who often dreams he is living in the era of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang (Zhang Luyi). Shota Sometani costars as a monk, and the two work together to unravel the truth behind a series of strange events that all lead back to the death of the emperor’s favourite concubine Yang Yuhuan (Sandrine Pinna).

I remember the Japanese have a thing for Yang Guifei so of course she had to fit in this film…?

The Legend of the Demon Cat 妖猫传 has released stills.  This seems to be a Chinese-Japanese co-production since it’s based on the Japanese tale of Bakeneko.  Starring Shota Sometani, Huang Xuan, Liu Haoran, Zhang Yuqi (Kitty Zhang), Zhang Rongrong (Sandrine Pinna), and Zhang Tianai, those looking for a quick Tang dynasty fantasy movie to watch can check this out.

BOBO was kept busy recently with the release of their show, NONSTOP, and celebrated their two year anniversary with the release of a new photo diary that I’ve already added to my list of goodies to buy. They also wrote loving speeches to each other.
