R1SE in a rendition of Roles have no big or small 角儿无大小. This is really their best style – mostly rap + some opera. Yan Xujia and He Luoluo are missing for college examinations. Yan Xujia got into Beijing Film Academy, not sure about He Luoluo. Congrats to Yan Xujia for being the final member of X-Fire to get accepted into college!
Sisters Who Make Waves is a show that relies on the charisma and personality of the big sisters, so I wasn’t too fussed by the shoddy camerawork for the performance stages.
Up first is Ning Jing, Aduo and Cindy Yen’s Orchid Grass. This cover is stunning, and the empowering lyrics (different from the original) are a perfect representation of the performers:
Now this is my type of show! Woman Like Me / Sisters Who Make Waves 乘风破浪的姐姐 (lit. translation) is aimed at forming a mature-age girl group, and I am loving all the contestants (full list below) and producer Huang Xiaoming after watching the first episode.
The variety show airs every Friday at 12pm on Mango TV, and will be up on YouTube shortly thereafter.
Upcoming palace intrigue drama The Legend of Haolan stars Wu Jinyan as Li Haolan, a former noble lady of the Zhao state who is first a concubine to merchant-turned-politician Lv Buwei (Nie Yuan) before marrying the future ruler of the Qin state Ying Yiren (Mao Zijun).
The 63 episode drama will release two episodes every Saturday to Tuesday on iQiyi / MZTV beginning tonight. Members get an 8 episode head start.

Lady of the Dynasty has released a trailer and is set to release on July 30th. This rendition of Yang Guifei stars Fan Bingbing, Leon Lai, Wu Chun, Joan Chen, Ning Jing, and random white guy Steve Boergadine.

Traveling reality show Divas Hit the Road released posters and cast of Zheng Shuang, Jing Boran, Yang Yang, Ivy Chen, Xu Qing, Ning Jing, and Mao A’min. A set of photos of the crew pillow-fighting in London was also released after a fanvideo of them circulated.
Ivy Chen and Yang Yang clearly did not communicate on the theme of the photo.
Don’t try this at home, kids. Strings are not edible, and stabbing yourself definitely does not let you timetravel.
Love Across Time‘s Zheng Shuang and Jing Boran reunite once more in Season 2 of Divas Hit the Road 花儿与少年. Joining them will be Ivy Chen, Yang Yang (male), actress Ning Jing, singer Mao Amin, and Season 1’s Xu Qing. The cast has been rumored for a while, but was only confirmed this week as filming begun in the U.K.
Season 1 was a drama-fest, and Season 2 definitely promises to be no less than that, especially with not only a major ship coming on board, four young singles, and the return of drama princess Xu Qing.
While you’re waiting, Sisters Over Flowers has begun airing with Aarif Rahman, Victoria Song, Ma Tianyu, Lin Zhiling, Wang Lin, Xu Fan, and Xi Meijuan in Turkey.
