Zhang Yuxi, Xuan Lu star in Tang Dynasty version of Handsome Siblings

All I can say is that the execs at H&R Century definitely have a thing for the Tang Dynasty. Just look at the dramas they’ve produced over the years: Glory, Peace, Promise and now Dream.

Dream of Chang’an 梦醒长安 doesn’t actually have anything to do with Handsome Siblings, but the character setup of sisters being raised by opposing sides and meeting again as enemies definitely sounds similar. Zhang Yuxi plays younger sister Cheng Ruoyu, while Xuan Lu plays older sister Qiu Yanzhi.

Wuxia series Tingxue Tower releases opening and ending MV’s

Super stylized and slick-looking, Tingxue Tower at least wins the award for the best-looking wuxia series of the year.

Wuxia series Tingxue Tower 听雪楼 just released its opening and ending themes by Mickey He. Starring  Qin Junjie (Summer’s Desire) and Yuan Bingyan (Ever Night) , the series is a torteous tale of a young woman’s attempt to avenge her parents in a battle that blurs together good and evil.  I hope the release of these means that it’ll be released sometimes soon.

Feng Shaofeng, Chen Baoguo begin an empire in The Imperial Age

Finally, a Ming dynasty drama with expensive-looking costumes!

Feng Shaofeng plays the third emperor of the Ming dynasty in drama The Imperial Age 江山纪. He’s joined by Chen Baoguo as his father Zhu Yuanzhang, Ying’er as his empress, Chen Yuemo as his nephew, as well as Zhang Fengyi, Wang Jinsong, and Mickey He.  Director Gao Xixi (New Three Kingdoms, The King’s War)’s recent works have been a combination of hits and misses, but at least the costumes look amazing.

Mickey He drama releases trailer

… and what more could I have been expecting…

Mickey He and Li Yixiao’s Half for the People, Half for Beauties has released a trailer.  I just thought I would make a note in case anybody is interested in this production on Hua Tuo and a… ermmm… new take on the classic Three Kingdoms tale.

Mickey He becomes legendary doctor in latest series

After leaving Yu Zheng, Mickey He tries his hand at bringing legendary Chinese doctor Hua Tuo (seriously… some people worship him) to life.

Starring Mickey He and Li Yixiao in a drama about the turbulent Three Kingdoms that isn’t about the literary novel,  Half for the People, Half for Beauties has released a set of character stills.

The drama follows the famous doctor Hua Tuo, a Chinese doctor famous for surgery and anesthesia.  In order to help cure the governor’s daughter’s (Ming Xin) eyes, they travel searching for the anaesthetic mafeisan.  During his adventures, he meets Guan Yu, Cao Cao, and  and becomes embroiled in politics, including a drop by at the famous  Battle of Red Cliffs.

Tong Liya looks ready for Easter in her Femina shoot, and Eva Huang Shenyi alternates between an ice queen and a casual summer look. Li Yuchun is dashing as a man for Marie Claire, and Sun Li has a few vampire-looks dressed in black. Meanwhile, Ying’er is cute in a bird print dress, and Bea Hayden poses with a stone bust in white. Mickey He poses around in a busy city, suave in suits.  Continue reading

Zheng Shuang is a guest star in this new drama.

Disclaimer: Zheng Shuang and Zhang Han are not lovers this time; my shipping goggles just automatically pair them together. (What can you expect when Zhang Han says things like, “If Zheng Shuang ever needed plastic surgery, then there are no beautiful girls“?)

Featuring Zhang Han, Mickey He Chen Weiting, Mao Zijun, Li Qing, Gui Gui, and Zhang Meng, the drama recently wrapped up filming. Look below the cut for loads of stills (a few of them couple stills) and a brief on the Zhang Han-Zheng Shuang interaction (in the drama)

So here, idarklight wanted to know if Zheng Shuang and Zhang Han would have a scene together in upcoming drama The Four. And the answer is… Continue reading
