With a similar plot (thousand-year-old male lead vs true love female lead) and even the exact same supporting female actress playing the also thousand-year-old unrequited third wheel, Long for you 我与你的光年距离Ⅱ is basically an over-filtered version of Moonlight & Valentine. The fantasy series is not related to the first one (which was very boring) and stars mostly up-and-coming new actors. You can watch the whole series on Youtube here.
Ye Gu (Riley Wang) plays a Time Lord tasked with saving people by manipulating time and space. However, during one of his assignments, he becomed mysteriously bonded to Xia Xi (Xu Xiaonuo) so that whenever she is frightened, he apparates to her side as her “immortal servant”. Meanwhile, Xia Xi’s adopted brother (Wanyan Luorong) and his immortal professor (Zhang Baijia), are setting up a exhibit focused on the mysterious Jing dynasty and they’re all searching for an artifact that bears striking resemblance to Xia Xi’s heirloom necklace.
