My favorite Liu Shishi cover of all times Look at how beautiful the light is on her Liu Shishi by Liu Zongyuan
Known for his use of light to decorate his objects, Liu Zongyuan’s photographs often feel like they come from the impressionist school of painting. You might remember him from the famous Mulan-like photoshoot he did for Liu Yifei, but that photoshoot is not even up there among his best. He often brings an ethereal beauty to his subjects and their surroundings. Liu Yifei is probably Liu Zongyuan’s most common muse and the one who put him on the map, but he is also a frequent collaborator with actresses like Liu Shishi (who loves him so much she got him to do her wedding shoot) and Li Qin.

Jing Tian in modern wuxia photoshoot
Actress Jing Tian did a pretty modern wuxia-themed photoshoot recently. It reminds me a lot of the modern wuxia photoshoot for Liu YIfei also by photographer Liu Zongyuan, except the wuxia elements is less obvious due to the lack of visible weapons. Continue reading
Li Qin in Mauritius

If this photo was a movie poster, I’d go see it.
Li Qin is sometimes a warrior treading water to return home, and sometimes a fairy dancing atop a cliff in this Mauritius travel photoshoot by Liu Zongyuan.
The actress just finished up filming The Perfect Blue and has four upcoming dramas – The Wolf with Darren Wang, Fights Breaking Sphere opposite Wu Lei, Tears in Heaven with Shawn Dou, and Thankful for the Remaining Year with Zhang Ruoyun.
