The Chinese film industry is on the road to recovery and romance films Love You Forever (Li Yitong, Li Hongqi) and Wild Grass (Ma Sichun, Zhong Chuxi, Huang Jingyu) will be the first new commercial films on offer to moviegoers. Both films are slated to premiere on August 25, Chinese Valentine’s Day.
Love You Forever 我在时间尽头等你 stars Li Hongqi (Go Go Squid!) as Lin Ge, a man who turns back time so his love interest Qiu Qian can be resurrected. However there’s always a price to pay for thwarting Fate, and the teaser suggests that in the new timeline, Lin Ge will no longer be able to exist in the heroine’s life.
Directed by Yao Tingting (Yesterday Once More), the film is scheduled for a Valentine’s Day premiere next year.
Coming from up-and-coming art house film director Bi Gan (Kaili Blues), noir romance film Long Day’s Journey into Night 地球最后的夜晚 stars Huang Jue as a man who returns to his hometown to find his best friend’s (Li Hongqi) killer, and ends up crossing paths with the criminal’s mysterious girlfriend (Tang Wei).
