Early Friday Photos: All Chinese New Year films that are now delayed

This photoshoot was scheduled to feature photoshoots and posters promoting this year’s Chinese New Year films, but they have now all been delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus. This includes a return of almost 1 billion (1000 million) RMB in ticket presales in what was hoping to be the biggest Chinese New Year box office in history.

Jiang Ziya releases English trailer and ending theme by Zhou Shen, to screen abroad

From the producers of Ne Zha, animated film Legend of Deification 姜子牙 will screen in North American beginning Feb. 7, in the UK on Jan. 31, and in China on Jan. 25. The film released its final trailer today.

Atop the ruins of war, top commander Jiang Ziya is given the task to banish the Nine-tailed Fox Demon who threatens all mortals’ very existence. When he discovers the Nine-tailed Fox’s life linked to the soul of an innocent girl, he is faced with a challenging decision – follow the will of heaven or find his own path to righteousness.

Jiang Ziya reminds me of Takeshi Kaneshiro.

Legend of Deification 姜子牙 is the latest animated feature film from Coloroom, the producer behind China’s top-grossing animated films. The movie takes inspiration from Investiture of the Gods and will focus on the battle between Kunlun disciple Jiang Ziya and the nine-tailed fox demon.

The film will be released on Jan 25th 2020.
