Tang Yan with moon cake

During this past round-up, our favorite celebrities celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival (aka the Moon Festival) and got up to some other shenanigans. Kicking us off is Tang Yan and her picture-perfect moon cake. She’s currently filming the movie Bounty Hunter (赏金猎人) and will follow that up with the drama The Princess Weiyoung (锦绣未央). As always, keeping busy.

What flavor [of moon cake] did you all eat today?

Zhang Han and Gulinazha kissing in front of a bus

If you follow any of the younger Chinese actors, you probably already know about this news: Zhang Han more or less announced that he was dating Gulinazha, his costar from the upcoming The Classic of Mountains and Seas The Weibo post is just a photo of the two kissing in front of a passing bus, with a simple message saying “Rat loves Monkey” (referring to their zodiac animals) and tagging Gulinazha, but it’s a low-key and sweet way to go public.

Hope everyone had a good Halloween last week! Some celebrities got in on the fun as well, though I haven’t seen any truly outlandish costumes yet. Here’s three of the cutest ones I saw — do you have any of your own to share?

Jimmy Lin with wife Kelly Chen at son Kimi Lin‘s school’s Halloween party. They’re dressed as a SWAT team. Excuse me while I express shock over the fact that they’re allowed to bring to fake weapons into a school. My workplace didn’t even allow lightsabers!

Jimmy Lin, wife Kelly Chen, and son Kimi Lin dressed up as SWAT officders for Halloween

Photoshoot Friday: Flowers for Mother’s Day

Disclaimer: These shoots weren’t made with the intention of a Mother’s day celebration, but they may be a reminder for you to prepare some flowers for that special day. Li Xiaoran has a few simple floral accents against a white background (love the color of that raspberry dress!), while Deng Jiajia envelopes herself in a giant flower while going for a pink sheen in her hair. Zhang Xinyu‘s shoot doesn’t actually have flowers, but her pink  treat theme is something you might want to adopt for your mommy’s sweet tooth. Angela Wang from Dad, Where are you Going plays amidst an abundance of flowers (I’d be unable to stop sneezing…), while someone who shares the same name as her potential mother-in-law, Kelly Chen (Kimi’s mother is also called Kelly Chen) appears as the last guest in this round up. Weibo Wednesday: Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2014! Before we get started with the New Year, let’s take a look back at the final week of 2013 on Weibo…

Did you get what you wanted for Christmas? Jimmy Lin‘s son, Kimi Lin, definitely seems to have been excited for presents! Is that an Iron Man Mickey Mouse behind him?

Before going to bed yesterday, Kimi was worried that our house didn’t have a chimney and how could Santa Claus send the presents inside. Early this morning, he got out of bed and ran to the living room in order to see earlier if the Christmas presents had arrived or not. After seeing his just-woke-up, excited, and splendid smile, and him contently tearing apart presents, Daddy knows that no matter how tough or busy work can be, it will all be worth it if I can see your happy and joyful smile.

The 28th Hong Kong Film Awards

4220xtylxhkfa4

Of the four promotional posters for this event (best director, actress, actor, newcomer), I decided to use the one for best newcomer, because Xu Jiao (CJ7) looks so adorable in the center

The eligible films are those where two of the following occur: the director is a Hong Kong resident, at least one film company is registered in Hong Kong, and at least six persons of the production crew are Hong Kong residents.

And the winners are…

Chinese Celebrities When They Were Young

I said I would do a special fun post in exchange for someone making my banner when site hit 10,000. Well, here it is as promised, although nobody ever made me a banner. :( This is still incomplete…I don’t have a few people in here, and I wanted to put an after pic of everyone, but I got way too tired of that so I only put some for some people I didn’t think people would know (like all the mainland guys apparently), but eventually I will update this and make it the most comprehensive Chinese celeb baby picture list ever.

Love or hate her, you’ve got to admit Liu Yifei was one of the most adorable children ever.

More of cute adorable children behind the cut. I think it’s really rare for Chinese people to do plastic surgery (as of now) so this won’t be one of those “spot the differences” posts. This took a lot of time and effort to put together, so PLEASE DO NOT COPY AND POST ANYWHERE ELSE, w/o permission.

Kelly Chen Joins the Wedding Bandwagon

Cantopop Diva Kelly Chen, 36, has gotten married! After more than ten years of starring in movies with many hot Chinese actors, a hot half-Chinese half-Japanese actor (Takeshi Kaneshiro) and a hot full Japanese actor (Takenouchi Yutaka) she finally gets tied to “Alex” Liu JianHao, 34, her long-time boyfriend, whom she met before all those men. I wish her all the happiness in the world, but at this point, celeb weddings just aren’t that fascinating anymore.

Also there to support Kelly were the other men in her life, her brother and her father (L and R respectively as if you couldn’t tell). Her brother, formerly majoring in construction is now signed with EMI.

For more pictures of their wedding, guests, and guesses at who else will be married in 2008, click here.
