Roadtrip-undercover-romance drama Finding Love on the Journey has released stills of leads Chen Xiao and Jing Tian, and an opening theme song by Ma Tianle. Liu Yijun, who had memorable roles in Nirvana in Fire, The Disguiser and Great Expectations, also guest stars. [Extended Synopsis]
Photographer Luo Yang is one of the fastest-rising fashion photographers in the past year, a year with a lot of diverse, young photographers hitting the scene. Her photoshoot with Chun Xia was voted the best fashion magazine cover of year by fans and a panel of professionals, and imo it’s well-deserved. Here are some of her works, including with Ma Sichun, Jiang Wenli, Xiao Wen Ju, Zhong Chuxi, Chun Xia, Chen Feiyu, Li Meng, and Jing Tian.
The rawness captured in her photoshoots bring an unique perspective to the fashion magazine photography scene. I also love how her photoshoots subtly shows Chinese influences without making it in-your-face. It’s a part of what I see as a growing movement by Chinese artists to move away from the bold, explicit cultural elements like in the works of Chen Man. Another recent example is the embroidery Beauty Portraits by Leslie Zhang and Liu Zongyuan.
So I just figured out WordPress can embed tumblr (and that I have access to the Cfensi tumblr…) . This makes uploading photoshoots so much easier. I’ve also opened it to submissions if you want to submit your favs!
Collection of some great photoshoots by Chen Man that didn’t get their own posts, including Jing Tian’s futuristic shoot as a part of Pacific Rim promos, the rest of Yang Mi in Kyoto ,Tang Yan flirting with herself, Shu Qi fogged in mystery, and Fan Bingbing in Chinese-inspired avant garde fashion.
Finding Love on the Journey 一场遇见爱情的旅行 (lit.) is an upcoming road-trip romance drama starring Jing Tian (The Glory of Tang Dynasty) as Li Xinyue, a white collar worker who is under the watchful eye of police after she goes out of her way to buy Dear, a painting by renowned artist Chu Hongfei. Chen Xiao (Nothing Gold Can Stay) plays Jin Xiaotian, an undercover cop who is ordered to shadow the heroine’s every move.
King of Blaze 火王之破晓之战 is adapted from the Taiwanese comic of the same name by You Sulan. Bolin Chen (currently seen in Divas Hit the Road 3) plays the titular King of Blaze Zhongtian, a god from another star who comes to Earth in search of a way to save his homeland.
Augh!! There’s WAY too much stuff that has come out for this drama in the last couple weeks.
The Glory of Tang Dynasty 大唐荣耀 continues to drum up to its release on January 29th with a whole mess of theme songs, a long trailer, Promos, posters, images, etc. Starring Jing Tian, Wan Qian, Ren Jialun, and Shu Chang, character posters for those interested.
Despite 2016 being a bit of a disappointment due to everybody’s standards being raised to unbelievable heights by epic productions (the standard of which will likely be raised further in 2017 given dramas already on the production line), I have to say that 2016 was the year that the bar for the AVERAGE drama’s bar was raised greatly in terms of production standards. The next step will be to raise the average drama’s bar in story-telling, not just production standards.
The Glory of Tang Dynasty 大唐荣耀 has released a slurry of stills leading up to the projected January 29th release. Starring Jing Tian, Wan Qian, Ren Jialun, and Shu Chang, more images for people looking forward to this production.
I like how the costumes aren’t too colorful but still look nice.
The Glory of Tang Dynasty 大唐荣耀 has released a bunch of materials, supposedly preparing for the projected January 29th release date so to heck with it. Starring Jing Tian, Wan Qian, Ren Jialun, and Shu Chang, I really like how costume and set designers are branching out beyond the usually used smashing of “bright and eye-catching hues” together to other color schemes
