I swear Ice Fantasy’s promotion rounds have been going on since forever, so here’s to hoping it will live up to expectations when it airs on July 24th (2 episodes each on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). Based on the bestselling novel by Guo Jingming, the adaption stars Feng Shaofeng, Victoria Song Qian, Ma Tianyu and Zhang Meng.
More stills and theme songs by Jay Chou, A-mei, and Cindy Yen from Ice Fantasy this week. Starring Feng Shaofeng, Ma Tianyu, Victoria Song Qian, Xu Jiao, Zhang Meng, Wang Duo, and Madina Memet, those looking forward to this drama should probably start praying hard for a release date.
Series goes all out with an opening theme by Jay Chou and A-mei below and an ending one by Cindy Yen here:
Guo Jingming and China’s first motion capture animation film L.O.R.D. (Legend of Ravaging Dynasty) finally released its first full-length trailer. It stars Fan Bingbing, Yang Mi, Chen Xuedong, Kris Wu Yifan, Amber Kuo, William Chan, Yan Yikuan, Aarif Lee, Lin Yun, Wang Duo, and TF Boys‘ Wang Yuan. You know, if the CGI isn’t that great, you could’ve at least chose good voice actors to make up for it …
L.O.R.D. (Legend of Ravaging Dynasties) may have delayed its opening night to September, but they released their first magazine cover in time for June with a whooping 10 different Cosmos covers for you to chose from.
Featuring director/writer Guo Jingming with actors Fan Bingbing, Chen Xuedong, William Chan, TF Boys’ Wang Yuan, Amber Kuo, Aarif Lee , and Lin Yun, the ten covers are shot by Chen Man and Wu Ming. Which ones are your favorites?
China’s first motion capture animation film L.O.R.D. 爵迹 released its first sneak peek of its CGI, this time featuring actress Fan Bingbing.
The film is set for a September 30 release. (My heart shattered a little when I heard the time. Railroad Tigers is airing the same weekend, so the chances of that screening when there’s L.O.R.D. at the same time in North America is small. Nooooo.)
It’s Weibo Wednesday time! I didn’t pay much attention to this year’s Academy Awards, which took place on February 28, but it looks like quite a few Chinese celebs did. Here we have Li Yifeng congratulating Leonardo DiCaprio for finally winning a Best Actor award. In case you’re wondering what is going on, he’s spoofing a scene in The Revenant where Leo gets attacked by a bear.
In other Hollywood news, Li Yifeng was picked as an ambassador for the superhero movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which drops in the U.S. and in mainland China on March 25. However, I’m not entirely clear on what his being an ambassador entails. Yifeng also has two TV series — espionage drama Sparrow (麻雀) and xianxia drama Noble Aspirations (青云志) — expected to be released this year.
