Let’s face it, all we really want is a Wu Jing vs Jackie Chan fight.

  • Ma Li will star in buddy comedy written by Karen McCullah (Legally Blond, Ella Enchanted, She’s the Man) . Eva Jin (Sophie’s Revenge) will direct.  (Deadline)
  • The story centers on an unlikely pair of alpha females — Zoe, an American tech entrepreneur who relocates her company to China, and Maylin (Ma), a local female bodyguard who is hired to protect her. When Zoe’s life is threatened, the odd couple must put aside differences and join forces in order to survive.

  • Gong Li signed on to star as volleyball legend Lang Ping in upcoming film. (SCMP)
  • Hu Ge signed on to play coach and husband Jiang Shan in upcoming Li Na epic by Peter Chan. Poster below the cut. (Sina)
  • Avengers and I, Tonya star Sebastian Stan will star in 355, the spy-thriller starring Fan Bingbing, Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o and Penélope Cruz.  Marion Cortillard has dropped out due to personal reasons.  Filming is expected to begin in July (The Hollywood Reporter)

Last time I posted the photoshoot of over 40 celebs together, a couple of you guys mentioned being in interested in photos of celebsover 40, so here it is featuring Gong Li, Kara Hui, Jiang Wenli, Vivian Wu Junmei, Carina Lau, and Joan Chen. I did 50+ instead of 40+  because there was simply too many otherwise.

The Monkey King 2 starts off year of the monkey

The Monkey King 2 has released more stills prior to its release on February 8th.  Starring Aaron KwokGong LiFeng ShaofengXiaoshenyang, and Him Law, I have to admit that I am pleasantly intrigued so far, especially with the costume for Baigujing.

Looking forward to Upcoming Chinese films in 2014

The year is almost a quarter over (I know!), but 2014 is a really exciting year for Chinese film and it would be a waste not to take a look at all the great stuff that’s going to be released soon. This year, as some have noted, will be the year of big director comebacks, from Red Cliff’s John Woo to Zhang Yimou and many others. (Thanks to Mookie for everything about this post, I’m just here to spread the word.)

(Also, you’ll soon realize that Huang Xiao Ming does not rest… I believe he has at least 4 films this year alone, excluding dramas!!)
