Xing Zhaolin and Eleanor Lee star in a mountaineering-themed romance.
Here are three sports-related school rom-coms that are currently airing. I honestly haven’t had time to watch any of them. Let me know if any of them are good.

Not caving into the recent trend of looking to Japan for inspiration for Tang Dynasty aesthetics is a focus of the drama, how well do the first stills do?
Aiming to be a panorama of early Tang dynasty life, the latest Yu Zheng-produced drama features merchants, pirates, the military, and princes finding love and success in the early Tang dynasty. Based on the script by author Fengnong, A Promenade through the Tang Dynasty 大唐女儿行 (lit: Promenade of Women in the Tang Dynasty) began filming earlier this month with a young cast consisting of Xu Kai (The Legends) , Li Yitong (Bloody Romance), Tan Jianci (Secrets of the Three Kingdoms) , Fan Shiqi (Where the Lost Ones Go), Wu Jiayi ( Untouchable Lovers), and Jiang Mengjie (Sword Master) . The series has already been brought by Hong Kong channel TVB.
Xu Kai plays Cheng Chumo, the son of Cheng Yaojin and a profligate youth who chooses to make a name for himself after falling in love with Fu Rou (Li Yitong). While he goes to fight pirates in the open waters, Fu Rou leaves behind her merchant family to become a master weaver in the palace. There, she meets Prince Li Ke (Tan Jianci) and Marines General Yan Zifang and becomes entangled in the fight for the Crowned Prince. Fan Shiqi plays Cheng Chumo’s brother while Wu Jiayi plays his love interest, the Princess Qinghe. Ma Yue and Miao Pu play the Emperor Li Shimin and the Empress Zhangsun. Together, the protagonists must fight on all fronts to save their families and the future of the Tang Dynasty.
When a modern-day starlet playing an ancient queen finds someone claiming to her soldier, a hilarious romance ensues.
A remake of Queen In-hyun’s Man, tentatively named Love Before History 爱在公元前 (literally Love Before the Common Era) is confirmed to co-star Zheng Shuang and Jing Boran in his first drama in forever. Other rumored cast members include Chen Xiang, who is the current episode lead of the highly-recommended Cosmetology High, and Fan Shiqi.
I feel kind of weird that my top two failed ships might be a new ship, but I think this could be a great opportunity for both of them, and am super excited to see Jing Boran in a drama.
Here’s hoping the reason why they have no good stills/posters is because the money was spent on a script … or at least more comfortable beds for these poor adonises and Guigui.
In its latest attempt to implement a weekly series, Hunan TV will be airing the first mainland series in a long time to have the script be written as it is airing. Paranormal Adonis 不一样的美男子 stars Zhang Han as the titular adonis who wakes up with the ability to see into the future after an accident. The series co-stars Guigui, Fan Shiqi, M4M, Lu Chen, and YiYizi.
The series, which will air every Sunday beginning June 29th , so far only has 10 episodes written, and only begun filming last month in Xiamen. In addition to Paranormal Adonis, Hunan TV is also opening a new weekly series withLegend of Ancient Sword, which will air on Wednesday and Thursdays. I really want Hunan TV to succeed in this weekly series push because weekly series encourage more succinct but high-qualitied productions.
can you spot the tag-along? It’s vampire-hottie Julaiti!
Fan Shiqi, Wei Yining, Song Wei barreled through the competition with flying colors last Saturday, scoring the only three seats on YY’s Revival Competition (which, for those who are unclear what that is, it’s an alternate stage for eliminated Super Boy contestants to compete in order to get revived into the main stage) as finalists. While Fan teams up with Julaiti for a thrilling revisit of boy group EXO’s hit song “History” (personally I enjoyed their cover of EXO’s MAMA more), Wei Yining wins the hearts of Chinese fans with his soulful performances of “Starry Starry Night” from the same-title Taiwanese film and his original piece called “Little Fish”. Finally, Song Wei bursts into the round, making a place on the third and final spot – a surprising, but well deserved 3rd finalist; performing a song called “Runaway Mama”.
Although all three boys will have a showcase performance this Friday on the Super Boy stage for the Top 10 into 6 round, keep in mind that there is only one finalist from YY’s Revival (out of the 3) to compete the main competition for the Top 5+1. Will it be the ever-popular Wei Yining, the fastest-rising-fan-base-hottie Fan Shiqi, or the hardworking-and-rock-n-roll Song Wei?
Hm tell me what’s cuter, those pandas or my fluffy silver hair which I’ve gelled to perfection?
They say a true man gets himself back up after a fall. Suffering a slight set-back doesn’t seem to deter the popular Super Boy Wei Yining, who has made waves after the judges eliminated him in the Top 66 to 20 advancing round.
Wei Yining, backed by a throng of fans (known as Lime/Qing Ning/青柠), was the reigning champion in last week’s YY Fuhuo (Revival) – which is a stage where all eliminated contestants get a chance to be ‘revived’ based upon a weekly voting process. His latest performance, an original piece called “Little Fish 小鱼“, won him the coveted ‘weekly champion’, which is another step towards his dream of getting into Super Boy’s Top 5+1. The video of the performance garnered over 2 million video hits in 2 days.
With weibo quickly becoming a surefire way to measure popularity in China, Wei’s verified weibo account, among other Super Boy competitors like Fan Shiqi and Yu Menglong, already boast numbers in the 100k and above.
