Actress Dilraba designs her own sunglasses as a part of a charity campaign for Harper’s Bazaar. She is currently filming a romantic comedy with Guo Jingfei called 21 karats 21克拉, just finished another one (Proud and Prejudice 傲娇与偏见), and will be playing a fox spirit opposite Gao Weiguang (finally!) in the upcoming drama version of Three Lifetimes, Ten Thousand Kilometers of Peach Blossoms 三生三世十里桃花.

Despite a weak first six months, 2015 produced some of the best dramas in years. Here are some of my top picks. What are yours?
Best Make-up and Styling: Empress of China: Wu Zetian
As the woman with probably the most outfits in drama history, Wu Zetian’s stylist also does a great job of making Fan Bingbing look gorgeous in all outfits and ages, many of the stylings being based on history.
Best production design: Nirvana in Fire
Qingxue has finally found her Tusu again!
Yang Mi and Li Yifeng fall in love again in Tony Chan’s Fall in Love Like a Star 怦然星动. If somewhat unconvincingly given her gorgeousness, Yang Mi plays the “plain” agent who falls in love with her client, the famous star played by Li Yifeng. The film co-stars Dilireba, Zhang Yunlong, Chen Shu, and Wang Yaoqing. See a second trailer here.
Perfect for fulfilling the fangirl(or boy)’s fantasies of falling in love with their favorite star, celebrity romances seem to be a popular theme lately. In addition to this film, there are also two upcoming dramas (Above the Clouds with Chen Xiao and Yuan Shanshan, Rebirth of a Star 重生之名流巨星 with Ma Ke and Zhang Xinyu).
By the way, Yang Mi and Lu Han’s The Witness is currently airing in North America and Europe. Catch it if you can! Both films are produced by Yang Mi’s own workshop.

Tang Yan and Rain join forces once more in upcoming drama Diamond Lover 克拉恋人, although Luo Jin and Dilireba totally steal the show for me with Dilireba as the ditzy and aggressive celeb who falls for an awkward regular guy. Watch them be cute in the trailer below.
Sassy angels, spirits seeking reincarnation, a potential vampire, a hacker-turned-medium, but really mostly just a lot of pretty and a romance at heart.
Revived by angel after her murder right before her wedding, Dilireba‘s character must solve her own murder before the clock runs out for reincarnation (that is how angels work, right?) Along the way is ex-boyfriend and potential vampire Merxat, her fiance and potential baby daddy(?) Yang Xunwen, and his adopted sister and skilled hacker played by Yang Chengcheng.
“Backlight of Love” is yet another Yu Zheng- QQ Entertainment drama and airs an episode each on Mondays and Tuesdays. The first two episodes are a huge improvement from his previous net stuff. I especially like how each episode ends on a cliffhanger. Watch the drama trailer below.
