Twelve Legends 十二谭 is based on the novel of the same name by Niluo (Wuxin: The Monster Killer), and stars Nazha (Ten Years Late) as Yeming, the human form of a luminous night pearl. Jasper Liu (Before We Get Married) costars as Jin Xingjian, originally an ordinary rock who displays characteristics of a deity as well as a demon.
Supervised and written by the Detective Chinatown film series’ director Chen Sicheng, the web drama version stars Roy Qiu as a private investigator. Janine Chang, Chen Zheyuan, Cheng Xiao and Deng Enxi costar. The 12 episode series will revolve around four cases, all set in different locations and directed by different up-and-coming directors.Continue reading
Tackling difficult issues like depression and autism, youth sports drama Project S is an attempt to reinvent itself as a contender for quality youth drama by Wajijiwa, the Tencent subsidiary that manages Rocket Girls and R1SE. While their previous couple of dramas have lacked any logic and was carried solely by idol power, this one is rooted in a much more realistic story. The remake of the three-part Thai series is currently filming its last third and will be a Tencent exclusive.
Wajijiwa is ran by Long Danni, who produced Super Girls, My Hero, Meteor Garden, and Produce 101, so it’ll be interesting where she’s headed with this drama.

Hu Ge (Game of Hunting), who recently wrapped up filming Wild Goose Lake, guest stars in director Shunji Iwai’s first Chinese-language feature Last Letter, which has recently released character posters and a trailer ahead of its premiere on November 9th at the Golden Horse Film Festival. Zhou Xun plays the lead, a woman who reunites with her high school crush at a class reunion.
