Late Eastern Han Dynasty Nobility (Clothing and Happiness).
This week we continue on to later in the Eastern Han Dynasty from Clothing and Happiness 裝束與樂舞 and Experiencing Dynastic Restoration 朝代復原體驗. This is the period where Chinese underwear made significant improvements to where people started to feel more comfortable wearing fabrics of lighter weight and color. This style of clothing or some variation of it persisted from the Eastern Han Dynasty and when China started to fraction into separate kingdoms into the Three Kingdoms Period, Jin Dynasty, Sixteen Kingdoms Period, and seems to have still been around in some shape or form in the Northern and Southern Dynasties.
From this point on in the history, you will still see a mix of the different Hanfu styles through history but you will probably see more Ruqun 襦裙 and other styles of Hanfu except Quju 曲裾.

Clothing from the kingdom of Chu. I seem to remember that Chu, although conquered later by the Qin, seemed to have a strong influence from a cultural perspective on the Han Dynasty (Clothing and Happiness).
It’s been a while since we’ve done this so we’re going to do a more historically-inspired take through the Chinese history timeline. This week we start with the Warring States Period from Clothing and Happiness 裝束與樂舞 and Experiencing Dynastic Restoration 朝代復原體驗. Remember that this is still a time period when Chinese underwear was in develop to properly cover the body. Therefore, thick and heavy clothes were favored by the upper class.

This week, we take a look into more reconstructions from around the Song Dynasty. Pictures this week come from Clothing and Happiness 裝束與樂舞. As we all know, the Song dynasty is broken down into the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1126 CE) and the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279 CE), interrupted by the invasion of the Jin Dynasty capturing not only the capital but most of the imperial court. This week, we take a look into more Han dynasty-inspired clothing, more specifically that of the Western Han dynasty and probably the earlier part of the Eastern Han dynasty.
