No, not those Transformers. More like reverse animorphs. Urban fantasy series Bureau of Transformers has Wang Ziwen and Chen He working for an agency in charge of regulating transformers, or animal-looking aliens aka yaoguai that can also transform into humans. Wang Ziwen is an agent of the agency, while Chen He is a human veterinarian that got roped in . Together they must solve a series of cases while trying to maintain the delicate balance between the human and transformer worlds. The series is a spin-off of Hanson and the Beast, which I thought had a great premise that deserves to be flushed out more. Continue reading →
Running Man has succeeded in ratings, but will people pay to watch?
Hoping to replicate the record-breaking success of the film version of Daddy? Where are we going? last year, this year’s variety hit Running Man 奔跑吧！兄弟 will join the holiday box office competition. The film, an extension of the show, stars Running Man regulars Angelababy, Chen He, Wang Baoqiang, Wong Cho-lam, Zheng Kai, and Li Chen as well as guests Xie Yilin, Lynn Xiong, and Guo Jingfei .
International distributor China Lion has picked up the show for North American and Oceania audiences.
Happy last day of the year! We hope that 2014 wraps up well for all of our Cfensi readers, and that 2015 will be an even better year! No earth-shattering news in this Weibo Wednesday round-up, but there are some cute animals and the usual pack of cute kids.
The big news these past two weeks was obviously Faye Wong and Li Yapeng‘s divorce, a topic that continues to trend on Weibo. I don’t have much to say about it, except that I was not expecting it at all. But even a divorce can’t cover up the happiness of marriage, and we were lucky to get not one, but TWO celebrity weddings in the first half of September!
First up are actor He Ziming and Super Girl He Jie, who wowed us with their proposal, their wedding photoshoot, and now their actual wedding ceremony. The two of them tied the knot on September 12th, and their wedding photos are absolutely gorgeous. Check out these twophotosets, courtesy of Nice Wedding, for some ideas for your own wedding! ;)
Today, we happily got married! After we came down, friends asked me if I was tired. To tell the truth, I was so happy that I’d forgotten everything else. The two people who went through the most difficulties these past two months actually wasn’t us, but all of the employees and our friends in the media. On behalf of me and my wife, we thank everyone, as well as the friends who could and couldn’t make it! Thank you all for your blessings, because only with you as your witnesses could our wedding seem especially meaningful! In short, engraved in my memory and heart, thank you.
刘亦菲: 感谢这么多的祝福和爱，朋友 家人 和所有爱我的人，我的影迷 and also thank my Thai fans, I’ve watched the birthday video, lots of love in it! Thank u guys
August 25th was Crystal Liu Yifei‘s birthday (she’s 26!), so Weibo was filled with costars, friends, and fans wishing her the best. Here she is with an adorable birthday cake with ducks on it. Why her fans didn’t pick kittens is beyond me, but ducks are cute too.
Thank you friends, family, and all of those who love me, my fans, for all of these blessings and love, and also thank my Thai fans, I’ve watched the birthday video, lots of love in it! Thank u guys
This summer is about to get a little hotter with this week’s photoshoot Friday. This post started out as a fancast for Feng Qiu Huang (凤囚凰), but with this many eye candies it’ll be a sin not to share. Today’s specials include Wallace Huo enjoying coffee, Huang Xiaoming learning how to ride a bike, Chen Xuedong and William Feng spending some down time at a bar, Shawn Dou and Ran Xu chilling at the beach, and more. First rule of thumb in idol dramas: if you’re the well-to-do daughter of a well-to-do businessman, it’s probably too good to be true. Especially if you’re Qi Wei.
In Love Destiny (爱情自有天意), Qi Wei stars as Cheng Xi, the daughter of the president of Landscape Corporation. In reality, though, her last name is Tang and her real father is the owner of a small restaurant. Due to an accident more than twenty years ago, she got mixed up with Tang Zheng (Malaysian actor Melvin Sia), although I’m not really sure how…? Anyway, this, of course, leads to all sorts of trouble when twenty years later, the now grown-up children meet and fall in love.
I wish I could provide a more informative synopsis, but the trailer is pretty much just people dramatically yelling at each other, while dramatic music plays in the background, so it’s not of much help there. Love Destiny is set to begin airing on February 11th, and it’s helmed by Taiwanese director Chen Hui-ling (Autumn’s Concerto, Material Queen), so at the very least, we’ll be getting a lot of prettiness. Check behind the cut for the recently released preview and for a lot of stills. Continue reading →
