陈学冬: 一口塑料普通话的我也是醉了[拜拜]一年级好看吗?
Me with my mouth full of plastic Mandarin*, I’m also intoxicated. Is Grade One fun to watch?
* “Plastic Mandarin” is a way of referring to Mandarin that is heavily influenced by the Hunan dialects.

Author and now director Han Han’s new movie, Continent 后会无期 (”We Won’t Meet Again”) will be hitting theaters on July 24. This is another coming-of-age story that Han Han is adapting from one of his own works, featuring Feng Shaofeng, Wang Luodan, Chen Bolin, Joe Chen, Wallace Chung, and Yuan Quan in its central cast (not bad!) They play a set of childhood friends, who have all grown up together on the east side and now set off for a somewhat reckless journey. Han Han recently released the theme song on Weibo, titled “Song of Dongji Island.” I’ve posted the video below, if you want a sneak peek at some scenes from the film, but be warned – it sounds more like the Marseillaise than a theme song for a movie! (The Dongji islands on the very easternmost border of mainland China).

杨幂: 欢迎你,糯米米
If you could figure out whose hands those were without looking at the watermark, major kudos to you! On June 1, Yang Mi and Hawick Lau welcomed a baby girl into the world. The couple has nicknamed their daughter “Little Sticky Rice” since she was born just one day before the Dragon Boat Festival, on which it is traditional to eat zongzi, which are made of sticky rice.
Welcome, sticky rice
Hawick posted on June 1 to update the world on Yang Mi’s condition and wish everyone a happy Children’s Day. (Yes, their kid was born on Children’s Day.) He later reblogged Yang Mi’s photo and added, “Always stick to Daddy and Mommy like this, all right?” Getting emotional already, eh?
吴奇隆TD: 長的像吳奇隆了不起啊?你再瞪我,拖出去……擺好
How many wax dummies of Nicky Wu do we need? Well, I’m not complaining, even though the dummy doesn’t even look that much like him… as long as they give us Bu Bu Jing Qing (步步惊情) when they said they would. Just twenty days away, everyone!
You think you’re great because you look like Nicky Wu? If you keep staring at me, I’ll have you dragged out and……… arranged properly.
Drama
For those of you who celebrate it, Merry Christmas! For those of you who don’t… have Wang Leehom in a Santa costume.
王力宏: 糜鹿放假了,留了聖誕老公公一個人坐上往濟南的飛機!
The reindeer all went on vacation, living Santa Claus to sit on a plane to Ji’nan all by himself!
Some more silliness, but also a solemn farewell, behind the cut.
Note that the ice cream brand exists outside the Cartesian graph of love, it’s because ice cream transcends all emotions.
The ice cream that has previously brought you JJ Lin/Jin Sha and Ethan Ruan/Shi Zhoujing now doubles the star power with Kai Ko, Chen Bo-lin, Annie Chen and Fu Xinbo. The four team up for an ice cream ad/microfilm/MV. Watch the MV below and the microseries here
China’s Film Stars are spread out all over Asia! I decided to do a quick photo post to locate all of them…first is Pusan, because not that many Chinese people that went, and also it came first chronologically, so it’s easier to just get it out of the way.
After being inactive for half a year, Fusion will be back with a second album. When asked why the long absence, their company said that they’ve been concentrating on their next album which is reaching the end stages of its production. Now they’ll be starting performances again to warm up for their new release.
This is probably the best music news in this batch, the rest are just sad ones about company matters.
Meteor Shower’s theme song was released featuring the voices of all four “Hua”. The soundtrack will feature the lovely voices of Wei Chen and Yu Haoming …and the voices of Zhang Han, Zhu Zixiao and Zheng Shuang. The series will be shown in early August on Hunan TV, after Always Smile! finishes airing.
