Hugely popular variety show Sisters Who Make Waves is already back for a second season, and has brought in notable singers and actors Na Ying, Cecilia Cheung, Zhou Bichang & Wang Ou among others as contestants (full list below). The variety show releases 1 episode every Friday at 12pm (CN time), and should be up on Hunan TV’s official Youtube a few hours later.
Love Won’t Wait 如果, 爱 is a 47 episode melodrama that has amassed all the dog-blood tropes you can think of. Cecilia Cheung plays a woman who gets entangled in a love triangle between a man (Xu Zhixian) who may have partially caused her son’s death, and a controlling ex-husband (Vanness Wu) who seems to have turned over a new leaf.
In Love Won’t Wait 如果·爱, Cecilia Cheung(Dangerous Liaisons) will be playing a housewife who is abandoned by her in-laws and husband after the death of her son. Ever the optimistic one, she decides to become an independent career woman and also finds her true love along the way. So… it’s basically Temptation of Going Home 回家的诱惑 without the crazy doppelganger revenge angle?
Vanness Wu (The Princess Weiyoung) and Thai actor Thassapak Hsu costar, though its unknown which roles they will be playing. After Vanness’ performance in Weiyoung, I’d actually like to see him play the unlikable husband.
Cecilia Cheung‘s photoshoot for L’Officiel is my favorite this time, because of how nice all the colors look, though Li Bingbing and Angelababy also sport nice photoshoots for Trendshealth and Bazaar, respectively. Li Yuchun also makes an appearance, sporting a black tiara that I thought was her hair at first. Look below the cut for more pictures! Continue reading →
Pretty, pretty, pretty – let the extravaganza of pictures in this post make up for its tardiness. This week’s shoot includes Xu Jinglei in floral for Femina, Zhang Yuqi dazzling with silver jewelry, Jiang Yiyan delicate with pretty dresses, Jing Tian in white against azure, and Sun Li gorgeous with red lips and tomboy black-and-white. Yang Mi is cute with a short bob and cute clothes; Fan Bingbing also sports a bob (and an afro). Maggie Cheung is decked out in neon pinks and oranges, (so is Gao Yuanyuan; who do you think pulls off that style better?) and Yang Mi appears again, glamorous with wavy hair for Cosmopolitan. He Dujuan is delicate and girlish for Cosmopolitan, while Ni Ni pulls off a sultrier look. Continue reading →
When it rains it pours; the leading fashion magazines in China recently released a slew of photo shoots with leading ladies Tang Wei, Li Bingbing, Yang Mi, and popstar Cecilia Cheung. Look below the cut, to see Cecilia Cheung burst with color and modernity for Marie Claire, probably stolen from the more gothic Madame Figaro shoot that follows. There, Tang Wei goes from being dark and melancholic to downright depressed. Vogue is very liberal with the color rouge (maybe a little too liberal) for its photo shoot with Li Bingbing, and Yang Mi/Wang Zhaojun fills out the quartet as the fourth beauty for September in a chic shoot for Elle.
I said I would do a special fun post in exchange for someone making my banner when site hit 10,000. Well, here it is as promised, although nobody ever made me a banner. :( This is still incomplete…I don’t have a few people in here, and I wanted to put an after pic of everyone, but I got way too tired of that so I only put some for some people I didn’t think people would know (like all the mainland guys apparently), but eventually I will update this and make it the most comprehensive Chinese celeb baby picture list ever.
Love or hate her, you’ve got to admit Liu Yifei was one of the most adorable children ever.
More of cute adorable children behind the cut. I think it’s really rare for Chinese people to do plastic surgery (as of now) so this won’t be one of those “spot the differences” posts. This took a lot of time and effort to put together, so PLEASE DO NOT COPY AND POST ANYWHERE ELSE, w/o permission.
