The latest animated film from Light Chaser Animation (White Snake) is a tale of the god Nezha reborn in a future cyberpunk dystopia. New Gods: Nezha Reborn 哪吒重生. This studio is super impressive if just for how consistent their output level is, with at least a new film every year.
From the producers of Ne Zha, animated film Legend of Deification 姜子牙 will screen in North American beginning Feb. 7, in the UK on Jan. 31, and in China on Jan. 25. The film released its final trailer today.
Atop the ruins of war, top commander Jiang Ziya is given the task to banish the Nine-tailed Fox Demon who threatens all mortals’ very existence. When he discovers the Nine-tailed Fox’s life linked to the soul of an innocent girl, he is faced with a challenging decision – follow the will of heaven or find his own path to righteousness.
Zhang Jie sings Jiang Ziya, the theme song for the animated feature Jiang Ziya/ Legend of Deification. The film is from Coloroom Pictures, the producers of Ne Zha. I love the art style of this film so much and really hope its script matches that of Ne Zha.

Legend of Deification 姜子牙 is the latest animated feature film from Coloroom, the producer behind China’s top-grossing animated films. The movie takes inspiration from Investiture of the Gods and will focus on the battle between Kunlun disciple Jiang Ziya and the nine-tailed fox demon.
The dubbing is actually pretty solid (but that may be because the Last English-dubbed video I’ve been watching was this) . Animated feature White Snake , a loose prequel to popular legend The Legend of the White Snake, opens in LA on November 15th and in select U.S. theaters on Nov. 29. As a part of the Animation is Film festival, White Snake co-director Zhao Ji and Ne Zha co-writer Yi Qian will be doing Q&A’s this weekend in LA. Yi Qian is also the CEO of Coloroom, the rising animation powerhouse that’s also behind Monkey King : Hero’s Back and Big Fish & Begonia.
Hong Kong-based director Yonfan will also be there for a Q&A on film No. 7 Cherry Lane, while Zhou Shengwei’s innovative stop-motion picture SHe will make its US premiere.
