Chen Yao chases after Yang Le in So Young

When people like Chen Yao and Dilireba always play the one who relentlessly chases after some completely unmoved guy, you begin to question what’s wrong with the male race.

Chen Yao, Yang Le, Ma Ke, and Cai Jingwen tackle on Yang Zishan, Mark Zhao, and Han Geng  in  the much brighter(literally) and younger TV adaptation of So Young 致青春.  I’m a fan of both leads, and the trailer actually looks like a lot more fun than the film. No news on broadcasting yet.

Son of Hero releases character stills

Come to think of it, Gao Yunxiang really has a thing for playing the “manly man archetype” from Palace: The Lost Daughter to Ban Shu Legend to Legend of Miyue.

Son of Hero, starring Gao Yunxiang, has released more character stills.  It makes sense that the costuming shouldn’t be too ornamental given that this should be centered on war and the Song dynasty military.

The Princess of Orchid Hills releases stills

The way you drag that behind you tells me that you by no means embroidered that yourself…

The Princess of Lanling 兰陵王妃 has released stills.  Starring Andy Chen Yi, Zhang Hanyun, and Peng Guanying, these let us take a better look at some of the embroidery on the costumes.

The Legend of Flying Daggers releases more stills

Those with a liking for Yang Rong and an allergy to Yu Zheng may find this more palatable.

The Legend of Flying Daggers has released stills with backgrounds.  Starring Hawick LauYang Rong, Wu YingjieHuang MingKenny Kwan, and Yuan Bingyan, the backgrounds definitely help the costumes look better than in the previous character stills.

Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace drums up excitement

OMG just stick to the more literal translation of the title on this one…

Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace (Ruyi Zhuan, The Legend of Ruyi, or the sequel to the Legend of Zhen Huan or Empresses in the Palace) is trying to drum up interest while it seems to be preparing for production.  There are various names being thrown around at this point but what seems more certain is that  Zhou Xun will be a part of this production.  Let’s hope the original author and production team can come together to make something amazing again.

Note:  We apologize for constantly posting and removing this one in the last couple hours since there was confusion about who is actually going to be in it.  We decided to settle for this version.

Antique stills for The Legend of Miyue

We haven’t seen much of this costume in released materials so it goes on top. :)

The Legend of Miyue has released antique stills for Sun Li.  Starring Liu Tao, Huang Xuan, Jiang Xin, Ma Su, Gao Yunxiang, Alex Fong, etc., more eye-candy for those who are keeping up with this new hot commodity (also because they are pretty and I lack self-control).

Yang Yang, Zheng Shuang fall in love online

704_1734912_755723

Set half in an online wuxia game and half in reality, Wei Wei Yi Xiao Hen Qing Cheng 微微一笑很倾城 is the third of author Gu Man’s novels to be adopted by Croton Media (the other two being The Boss & Me and My Sunshine).

Zheng Shuang and Yang Yang play a pair of college classmates who fell in love through an online video game, where the two play heads of two clans on an online role-playing game with an ancient setting. You can read a translation of the novel here.  Mao Xiaotong plays her best friend.
