My Roommate is a Detective costars Hu Yitian and Zhang Yunlong team up again in new Republican mystery Checkmate 民国大侦探. The drama will be retaining their detective + rich police officer characterisations from the first collaboration.
The first season will be based on the following eight cases selected from Agatha Christie’s Poirot series:
- Murder on the Orient Express
- The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
- Cat Among the Pigeons
- One, Two, Buckle My Shoe
- Five Little Pigs
- The Kidnapped Prime Minister from Poirot Investigates
- Three Act Tragedy
- Curtain
The first season is set to run for 24 episodes, and began filming last week.
