Promo round-up: Upcoming Tencent dramas

Dramas that will be streaming on Tencent this year and next have released trailers and posters. I personally want to watch Liu Yifei and Chen Xiao’s A Dream of Splendor, as well as Daylight Ent’s The Bond. Which ones are you looking forward to most?

A Dream of Splendor – Liu Yifei, Chen Xiao, Liu Yan, Lin Yun

The Bond – Bai Yu, Mao Xiaotong, Song Zu’er (N.B. The director is Zhang Kaizhou)

You Are My Glory – Dilraba, Yang Yang

Blossoms Shanghai – Hu Ge, Tang Yan, Ma Yili (this is giving me Great Gatsby feels)

She & Her Perfect Husband – Yang Mi, Xu Kai

Who Rules the World – Yang Yang, Zhao Lusi (can I look forward to action choreography fit for a wuxia drama?)

Our Times 启航·当风起时 – Wu Lei, Hou Minghao as IT entrepreneurs

Candle in the Tomb: The Worm Valley 鬼吹灯之云南虫谷 – Pan Yueming, Zhang Yuqi, Jiang Chao [Trailer]

On the Way to Hope 在希望的田野上 – Cao Jun, An Yuexi [Trailer]

Win The Future – Chen Kun, Xin Zhilei [Trailer]

In Spite of the Strong Wind 纵有疾风起 – Jin Dong, Song Jia [Trailer] (drama about PR that will hopefully be better than Game Changer)

Ark Peace 和平方舟 – Chen Kun, Zhang Tian’ai [Trailer] (foreign aid drama that will probably feel like a bore because of director Cao Dun)

Ebola Fighters 大国担当之埃博拉前线 – Luo Jin, Mao Xiaotong [Trailer]

The Longest Promise – Xiao Zhan, Ren Min (another teacher-disciple drama)

  1. Who Rules the World, Ancient Love Poetry are what I’m waiting for. A Dream of Splendor looks pretty and is probably a high budget production with Liu Yi Fei in it, but I have no clue what it’s about still and the trailer looks like a slower type of drama, which I don’t really watch. Still, so many upcoming dramas to choose from. How am I ever going to watch them all!

  2. Who Rules the World look the most interesting. It’s wuxia, romance, and a quite popular IP with strong male and female lead. They also casted two popular idols with huge fan following – zhao lusi and Yang yang.

Suprised that Chen Kun and Liu Yi Fei are back active in dramas

  3. I cannot believe I am seeing Hu GE in the listing!!! Wow!! So exciting…
As for Dilraba & Yang Yang, I really find both very awakward actors…Both are awakward to watch.
In recent years, Chen Kun is very active in dramaland. Good choice.

    • You know, I think they’re awkward to watch too. I don’t mind them paired with other actors/actresses, but the two of them together make me cringe a little. I don’t think they’re bad actors and they’re certainly very good looking, but I’m not sure why I’m not interested in their upcoming drama. I’ll probably take a peek if it gets raving reviews, though.
