Produced by Yu Zheng, Royal Feast 尚食 stars Wu Jinyan as Yao Zijin, an ordinary girl who joins the royal kitchen as a palace maid, and eventually works her way up the ladder to become head chef.

The heroine eventually decides that her biggest wish is to promulgate traditional food culture and cuisine, and leaves the palace. Xu Kai plays her love interest, crown prince Zhu Zhanji, while Wang Yizhe costars as royal guard (jinyiwei) You Yifan.

Other cast members include He Ruixian (Tang Can in Go Ahead), Wang Yan, Zhang Nan, Wang Churan (Held in the Lonely Castle), Liu Min and Zhang Zhixi (Love and Destiny).

The 50 episode drama began filming yesterday.
