If you ever wondered what Well-Intended Love would look like with the male lead being a pirate in ancient China, you’re really weird but also in luck.

If your mindless fun rom-com quota is feeling unfulfilled after watching all the new Christmas Hallmark movies, The Romance of Hua Rong 一夜新娘 is here to save the day. From the company and writer behind Well-Intended Love, this rom-com about a pirate and a young lady who wants to be a vigilante is fast-paced and filled with cuteness.

The female lead is super cute and reminds me of Alyssa Chia, while the male lead grows on you (a lot of people have mentioned he looks like a young Chen Daoming). Well-Intended Love supporting leads Yi Bochen and Huang Qianshuo join the cast once more as the rival love interest and the male lead’s assistant.

You can watch the drama on Youtube here. The series updates two episodes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with six extra episodes for MGTV VIP members.

  1. Maybe I shouldn’t hold it against this team that they did “Well-intended Love” (which should be called “Highly Misguided Plot-device Love”), but I will because that drama made me gnash my teeth! Thanks, but no thanks 😊

  2. Very easy watch, female lead is charming & not annoying and male lead definitely grows on you! Never watched Well-Intended Love but porbably will check it out during the holiday break if it’s as breezy of a watch as the Romance of Hua Rong
