Twelve Legends 十二谭 is based on the novel of the same name by Niluo (Wuxin: The Monster Killer), and stars Nazha (Ten Years Late) as Yeming, the human form of a luminous night pearl. Jasper Liu (Before We Get Married) costars as Jin Xingjian, originally an ordinary rock who displays characteristics of a deity as well as a demon.
Jin Xingjian has his own studio in the human world, and is introduced to several quirky demons along the way – there’s the love story between a fish sprite and a noble and a jujube demon who wants to become an immortal. However, it’ll take the hero more than just learning through observation to chase back the love of his life. Gao Hanyu, Chen Yusi, Zhou Junwei, Yang Zhiying, Gu Jiacheng, Deng Enxi, Chen Zheyuan, Tu Nan and Zhang Lei will be playing various roles in the different stories within the drama.
The 30 episode web drama is a co-production between Tangren Media and Youku, and recently began filming.

oh! The premise sounds so fascinating! Republican fantasy for me seems so rare since the republican era is so grounded in reality (propaganda, but still real life nonetheless) that the disconnect can be a little jarring if not done well! I’m fairly excited for this.
I really like the TV adaptation of Niluo’s books: “Wu Xin” and “Xiang Long”. So I definitely looking forward to this one.
