Yang Zi (Go Go Squid!) and Xiao Zhan (The Untamed) have been cast as an aspiring cellist and a workaholic doctor respectively in The Oath of Love (The Luckiest Couple on Earth) 余生请多指教, based on the novel of the same name by Bolin Shijiang.
Lin Zhixiao is a cheerful and optimistic 21-year-old musical student whose life is turned upside down when her father is diagnosed with cancer. She gives up a job offer from a big firm outside her hometown and breaks up with her boyfriend in order to devote more time to taking care of her father. While at the hospital, she meets and falls in love with her father’s attending physician Gu Wei (Xiao Zhan), a 31-year-old gastroenterologist who hides a warm heart behind a cold exterior.
Produced by Tencent, the 30+ episode drama is directed by Lv Ying (Suddenly This Summer).
I was hoping for Yukee Chen as the female lead. She and Xiao Zhan would look so good together.

According to Soompi, “Romantic comedy C-drama ‘Go Go Squid’ is this summer’s smash hit drama and was voted No. 1 as the most popular summer Chinese television series in a poll conducted by The Beijing News. Li Xian also won an award, “Most Popular Actor” according to GQ Men Of the Year 2019. Li Xian has the most popularity in 2019. Yang Zi was his partner in the drama, but I don’t think people noticed her. People only seemed to care about Li Xian.
