This cast is so unbelievably amazing it feels like a fancast, but it’s real.

Director Chen Kaige (Farewell, My Concubine) brings together some of China’s top young actors for semi-autobiographical film  From Dust, Flowers Bloom 尘埃里开花.   Starring Liu Haoran, Arthur Chen, Zhang Xueying, Chen Wenqi, and Chen Hong,  the film is a coming-of-age story set in Beijing. Award-winning cinematographer Cao Yu (Forever Young) rounds up the all-star team.  Filming has already begun.  This is notably the first film by Chen Kaige to feature both his son Arthur and wife Chen Hong.

Filming ceremony. Not sure who the girl next to Zhang Xueying is.

    1. It’s Chen Kaige’s semi-autobiographical story about youths in Beijing. The title comes from a quote by Zhang Ailing – “见了他,她变得很低很低,低到尘埃里,但她心里是欢喜的,从尘埃里开出花来。”

  1. This cast is lit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So excited for it. The male leads are basically my all time favorite actors!!!!
